What ideas do you have for the next two support heroes?

Aaron Keller recently confirmed that both the season 4 and season 6 heroes will be supports. He also said both heroes will “bring some things to the game that we haven’t seen before”, “new mechanics” and “exciting ways of interacting with your own team.”

So what kind of mechanics/abilities do you want to see for these 2 new supports? I can’t really think of anything new that isn’t already in the game (healing, damage boost, speed boost, invulnerability etc)

Also do you think/want them to be completely new characters or characters we’ve already seen before? (like Maximillien, MEKA Squad, Lynx 17, Dae-hyun, Sanjay Korpal etc)

Unfortunately it seems we have to wait even longer for Mauga :frowning: (unless we get support Mauga lol which would be kinda funny)

Life steal basically she/he dmg ppl but heals themselves in the process and ult would be a field that sucks heal from enemy and gives it to team as health

2nd stun ppl and heal
Ult would be that they give out a lightning that hits a player then it goes thro to another it continues for like 5 sec and it does dmg stun and heal

3rd a hero who heals with two guns and dmg then them back and ult that they shoot in the ground and it surrounds everyone within certain radius and it would take ult charges from enemy and give it to the team

I honestly hope it has a ranged swap places so when the DPS don’t want to peel off support we can just swap places with them and they can say hi to the endless flankers. Or a nuke… Yes, a nuke would be ok too.

Ok here are some dumb support ideas for you all.

An archer with a teleporting arrow he can shoot at one location and travel to. With healing/harmful arrows like Ana’s rifle.

A mine laying support with explosive mines that go off when someone walks on them. Harmless knock back, Aoe healing for allies but damage for foes. Knocks both into the air. Allies can use them like healing jumpads.

Quantum powered healer who can rewind time on allies to undo damage or accelerate time to speed a selected ally up temporarily. Ult resets cool-downs for allies and it does not affect Ults.

A Phoenix inspired healer who uses healing fire to cauterise wounds and burn foes. Leaves a nasty dot affect as his primary way to deal damage. His Ult is a self Rez, that brings him back with a temporary boost to his healing and damage.

A Baby Dva like healer with a drone that attacked anyone that gets near her, extremely short range permanent mini turret, low damage. She heals using an emitter device. Her Ult summons a mech that lasts until it’s destroyed. With low health seeking missiles.

A support that marks an enemy and any damage done to the enemy emits an Aoe heal to your allies in a pulse radiating from the enemy.

An alchemist. Throws potions with various effects from an elixir gun. Cycle through the potions using right click and fire using left click. Personal abilities involved drinking potions to temporarily increase abilities.

A duel wielding pistol support who heals by shooting his allies in the face for crit heals. A mid range hitscan healer. I just really want to shoot my team in their faces sometimes. To heal them. Of course.

A support with a short blink like teleport, that uses a wide beam, short range scanner weapon to heal allies and hurt foes. Think a of a less mobile tracer with a weak Winston style weapon. They leave Aoe fields on the ground that heal allies or hurt foes, that look like disco floors.

An psychic support that creates illusion to heal and harm. They can create harmful and scary illusions that hunt or track foes, low damage jump scares. Or create calming illusions that emit pulses of healing.

I still want a pacifist support, someone who can’t deal damage but has cc and high heals to make up for it.

What she can steal life while regenerate like reaper? I play her alot but i dont see that compared to playing reaper ig i dont focus much on health then

The main mechanic that would be hilarious to see is a grapple that works on teammates. His mech has a grabber arm for those that don’t know.

You’d have to use interact to confirm the grab and next thing you know you’re flying in the air.

I want to see a McCringe use high noon while a mile in the sky being held up by his collar lol

tossing health packs into the map (like deckard in hots (turn into a mega after not being used a certain amount of time, temp or permanent placement)) or torb’s armor packs (notice the green armor packs in the deathmatch mode atm?)

more anti healing

providing shields and armor to teammates

placeable “holy fire” that heals or burns you if you stand in it

wow has a skill for priests called leap of faith where you can pull a player towards you

shield/armor negation

damage mitigation

idk who the EXPOSED tag applies to in overwatch (maybe it’s old because i think i have seen it before but i know sombra/widow/hanzo have DETECTED) but that’s in the game files. maybe it’s damage to raw health so it ignores shields and armor

chain heal/dmg

more aoe heal/dmg

buffing and debuffing (can even be like a card like system where it rotates out your skills or ult on a rotating timer like every 5s, show new card that does something new. think of the arcanist in lost ark) (for x seconds, gain +x% hps. for x seconds, gain +x% ult charge. etc.)

more slows

more turrets/automated things

Only things I want from a support. One is a reliable, mid-range hitscan weapon. No stupid gimmicks. Just mechanically basic pew-pew comparable to Cassidy or Soldier. The other is an ability that reduces ranged damage in an AOE; like a smoke grenade or something. You can use it to cover an area so your team can walk through a choke or what-have-you.

Maybe a damage debuff. Like, give a support the ability to make one team mate take decreased damage.

I want a pyromancer supports whos fire would burn enemies but heal and buff allies :fire:

i hope there is nothing related to invincibility/imortality/Strong AOE heals

They need to make actual, skillfull supports who have depth and don´t destroy the game

Theres a character in paladins that can pick different passive benefits at the start of a game something like this would be cool in overwatch. Kind of like a grand strategist you could have passives for increased movement speed, ult charge rate, healing received that sort of thing basically would allow you to choose benefits to support your team depending on maps and team comp. And the skill would be having the game knowledge to choose the right passive for the situation. The main problem I see with this though is that they become a must pick.

Melee that heals teammates and harms enemies. I wanna nobrain lunge into enemy lines an swing wildly

Hopefully it is a mecha from D.va’s Mech squad… AKA a mecha type support

im wondering about that… how tho? i mean maybe they wont have healing capabilities but that would be nuts… so i cant see how they would be any different really

-healing … all do
-utility … everyone except moira and brig?
-damage … mercy has very little tho

what will the next 2 supports have that the ones we have already do?

Support that basically can briefly absorb damage to amp healing

Support that has “pain split” ability

Support that throws out healing zones as a primary manner of healing rather than direct fire healing (probably would work for a Vishkar support)

Support with a “revenge” mechanic when a nearby ally dies

Hmm…

I’d like to see how they’d do a tether. Like, you tether to an ally and part of the incoming damage they take is redirected, but you heal passively up to a cap of max HP before it stops self healing. So you basically can die too.

If you tether to an enemy, they get a damage increase but any damage you take is redirected back to them.
