fix you gAme blizzard and put reverse damage fallout on hanzo
Hanzo, Genji, Widow, Diva, Winston, Hammond, Tracer?
A high-tier Hanzo gets wrecked by other high-tier or not players
If you’re always losing the 1v1 vs Hanzos, then don’t take those 1v1s. Just retreat back to your team and make it a 1v6.
Best Hanzo counter is Widowmaker. You have to be at least as good as the Hanzo, though.
Mei. Frozen Hanzo is useless Hanzo
Shaky hitreg on Hanzo’s end…
I can take one with Winston pretty well
Hahahaha this is after mei get destroyed by storm arrows?
keep in mind you can counter a hero at most SR ranges and never win or kill them in a 1vs1. As long as they have to focus you vs doing anything that helps their team, it’s fine.
Don’t get me wrong, hanzo is a horrible hero. A sniper based hero build around helping players who can’t aim well still have fun sniping.
Yet most of the time when people are totaling losing it about him in a game it’s for one simple reason
Shield tank shield] … player getting shot <----- Hanzo
Hanzo is not a bad design… not all snipers should be like widowmakers… bow still exist?
The problem is when hanzo (sniper) is good on all ranges. This is a balance problem
ehhhhhh he shoots at empty space and then a player walks into said space and get one shot killed. Early hanzo also had a crutch of the scatter arrow that removed positional punishment if another hero got close to Hanzo in the first place.
Then rather then fix scatter alone, the balance team for some strange reason have him a spamming storm arrow and a dodge out of no where.
As I said, he is a sniper hero in a game for people who lack the aim to snipe but still want to do so. Since been replaced by Ashe as a fav of the poor aim player who still picks a sniper-ish aim based hero.
As your average gold level mechanical sort of player will pick Ashe, not hit anything and then maybe still do ok off spamming the boom sticks and bob. At least ok enough to lie to themselves they did it with the gun/aim and not the spam.
And is you error if they have a proyectile sniper and you put you haed on one space that hanzo can get easy shoots.
For this reason the arrows are proyectiles.
The real problem is when you get on close range against this sniper and he actĂvate storm arrows and destroy you.
Hanzo’s original idea of a sneaky backline sniper isn’t a bad one, but the problem is that such a hero needs to have damage falloff so they can’t just spam corridors, and also, to be diveable (at the very least it should zone him).
He ultimately doesn’t really work like he was intended to.
Not my fault if she doesnt wait for the CD.
What hero you should play to counter him depends on your skill and the hanzo’s skill.
If you’re good enough to 1-2 clip him, tracer is viable, but if he’s good enough to land his shots she is not. The same is kind of true for genji.
If you’re good enough to spot an opportunity, leap at him, melee cancel on the way in and shield dance then kill him after he goes out of position, monkey can counter him - but if he’s aware enough to not put himself in risky positions winston is not.
If you’re good enough to outright delete him with widowmaker you can “counter” him - but if you aren’t, or he’s a competent hanzo, he will win the sniper battle.
Wrecking ball can be decent against hanzo because it’s actually pretty hard for hanzo to kill him and ball can get him to half hp almost instantly and finish him before hanzo can burst ball down… but it doesn’t work nearly as well when hanzo knows you’re coming and he stays in his team. Not to mention ball is super easy to counter himself.
I think doomfist has a slight advantage against hanzo but it’s only when doomfist can hit a max damage seismic slam on him (or somewhere close) or doomfist already has enough shields to not get 1HKO on the way in.
Hanzo is a very versatile character and he doesn’t really have any super hard counters and the counters he does have lose their worth when it’s not a 1v1. If you’re not going to just immediately outskill hanzo on the hero you’re playing, the best options imo:
- The hard way, git gud, it’s timeless advice, try different heros and just grind one until you can get the hang of that matchup
- The easier way, stop taking the 1v1 and make it a 2v1.
Any, really. He’s closest to McCree in all ranks by stats. Widow is probably most powerful (she is most powerful dps after all. Only dps with high pickrate in OWL if you exclude Sombra that is picked for utility)
Lol. Hanzo doesn’t have any counters, he’s gone unchecked since the stupid buffs he got.
You play as Rein and Winston… LOL… do you even know something about aim?
I was a top 10 ranked UT2k4 CTF player way back in the day, so yeah I’ve had my aim based glory days. I don’t care as much anymore (been there, done that). I play tanks in Overwatch being I’m a team first player and no one else really likes playing tank.
plus even if I only played by smashing the keyboard with a bowling ball and was hard stuck in my own SR tier 3 levels under bronze, it would still change nothing about how Hanzo was designed.
He is a sniper based hero in the game to help players who can’t aim very well have fun sniping. It’s why I also suspect his kit has always had other helpful crutch like abilities in the mix. Like sonic to help a player with very low awareness and scatter to help poor positional play/awareness by giving the player a way out from it.
In the case of scatter, by getting a kill by aiming (or what passes for aiming with Hanzo) even less than his normal weapon.
At least now with storm arrow, you can play corners and cover and not get hit. So while the burst is still annoying it was a decent enough change.
I mean clearly there are very highly skilled players with hanzo but odds are they are skilled at mechanics anyways and just happen to play/hanzo.
The rest of the Hanzo players, as I said, can’t hit the side of a barn with anyone who isn’t Hanzo. The early days of the switch to storm was flat out hilarious to watch the whiffs everywhere. A lot have now moved over to Ashe now, being ya know… bob does the work.
false, hanzo can fire and move faster when widow scoped walk is painfully slow
