A better Widowmaker/Hanzo player.
Tanks can only stalemate.
Non-sniper DPS are fodder against a great Hanzo player.

Because right now he can basically be uncontested and stomp any hero he wants on a good deal of maps and there’s no 1to1 counter to him like there are for pretty much the entire rest of the cast.

No hero has a “hard-counter” but there are “counters” and “soft counters”, his main “counter” is the skill needed to be effective with him (which is basically true for all of them) and the rest are “soft counters” that will lower the impact he places in the match.
There is a difference in skill that makes you effective with him and just spamming the weapon.

Hanzo is an unfortunate case of having everything going for him but still not having a direction so he’s either good at everything or nothing.

Better play. Hanzo already really only works at all if you do well with him, so it’s a bit unreasonable to expect something to just… delete him by existing.

I feel like as a sniper he should have similar counters to widow(other than just another widow lol) but widow’s counters just don’t counter hanzo cuz he’s arguably even better at close ranges lol like it’s way easier to get a headshot at close ranges. I personally don’t have a lot of problems with hanzo but I agree he doesn’t have many counters other than shields but he can burst them down w storm arrow + the help of his team so…
edit: The only problem i have with hanzo is how he can easily get accidental kills. Like I have accidentally headshotted someone as widow before but it’s very very rare whereas I feel like I “accidentally” kill someone at least once a game playing hanzo lol

I don’t think relying on the Hanzo player to not know how to play him is a counter…
Regardless of the skill required, playing against a hero with no real… discernible weakness… feels mega-bad.
I don’t doubt the folks who get huge value out of him are good. It just seems like there should be ways to pressure him. Like you can dive a Widow or CC a tracer or pressure out a Genji with beams.

If that’s the case he needs a close range nerf as he can still spam to win regardless of skill level. He should be awarded for sniping, not firing in a direction. The did that with Junkrat so Hanzo is next.

So can a good roadhog, and a good widow, and genji, and doomfist, and sombra, etc etc etc, there are more heroes that can dominate by just being good, thats why there are skill rankings, so you play in your own rank, so you dont stomp.

Did everyone just forget about d.va? Yes hanzo can bait defense matrix, but d.va can rocket him down while dming and has the mobility to chase him down if he try’s to wall climb or leap away.

The last time we went down the “hard counter” hole we got Brig. We see how much of a nightmare that turned out to be. Going from OP to Garbage outside of the meta comp. it’s a mess we should learn from

D.va is good against him. It’s hard for him to go away, however don’t face him with dm gone, damaged and cooldowns.
Tanks : any mobile tank like D.va, Winston or even Hammond.
DPS : All melee DPS
Healers : Brigitte (since she has a melee playstyle) and Lucio can be a living hell to a Hanzo (and harass him in melee).
I don’t get how people can seriously claim Hanzo doesn’t have any strong counters… To me, people dying from the same Hanzo in a row are either bad positioned or don’t know the map very well.

That’s not true. Sombra hard counters Doomfist, Lucio and Wrecking Ball. Hard counters do exist in this game.
Not really. Lunge and wall climb help prevent him getting dived easily. And Storm Arrows can obliterate tanks that dive him, including DPS flankers.
