What happens to Ow1 gold when OW2 goes live?

(Apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere) I was wondering with OW2 switching its in game currency system, what will happen to the pre-existing loot boxes/gold that players have accumulated when that switch happens? Does it just convert? Does it all disappear?

It was announced that unopened Loot Boxes will be automatically opened for you once OW2 launches and any rewards earned from those Loot Boxes will (obviously) be yours to keep forever!

Thanks for clarifying that. So to be clear: that includes the in game gold collected in OW1 as well?

yep! any OW1 credits you may have will be brought over to OW2 (although you will not be able to use OW1 credits for OW2 items)

You will keep all currencies. It is not clear how useful they will be however because will probably be repurposed.

All lootboxes will be automatically opened at the release of OW2.
