Ana is married and their flirting is just like military guys flirt its banter. And its more how mercy and genji act out side the game always haning out late at night doing thing together plus i think you would love anyone who saved your life even more so if they looked like mercy only brig is hotter with ash being 3rd

I mean they are still together. It’s just that Overwatch 2 hasn’t never really mention the Campaign yet with them in it yet.

As a transgender woman I really would like the represantation for my community but not by erasing what was previously established. (Especially with all the background Pharmercy has, yk harrassing writers, the ship being sus because the age gap they have when they met)

I personally would prefer Gency to be canon, with all the lore, all the voice lines, all the events, they even have matching skins, and even their VA’s support the ship enough to pay for fan arts.

I think we should leave things as they have been previously established.

Gency was never canon. It was never even close. The only thing we know about them is that they have history related to Overwatch, and they care about each other, which is in no way, shape or form a confirmation of a romantic relationship. We don’t even know if Mercy swings Genji’s way.

Pharmercy is also not canon. Again, the only thing we know about them is that they have history related to Overwatch, and they care about each other, which is in no way, shape or form a confirmation of a romantic relationship. We don’t even know if Mercy swings Pharah’s way.

It’s entirely likely that neither of these relationships will ever be made canon. For all was know Mercy could be married to the Payload.

Relationship is any kind of connection between two or more people. It doesn´t have to be romantic one.
These two have lore together, interactions, hints - so yeah, they have some kind of relationship going on (platonic, friendly, romantic maybe?). But lately their interactions were deleted completely and she got interactions with Phara.

What got deleted ? Could you give an example.

Idk if deleted, but I have not heard them since release…

  • there was interaction between them, where they talk about their late night conversations in Swiss base
  • valentine exchange of chocolate on Hanamura (since we no longer have Hanamura), which is Japaneese custom for lovers/people who like each other
  • tanzaku question
  • all their stormrising interactions (which are gone now too due archives being gone)

I feel that has more to do with how bare bone Overwatch 2 is then anything else…
They just deleted maps and made some game modes limited.

I miss also most tank conversation for example Reinhard and Zarya.
But wouldn’t call it …

But even if you rule out deleted map and archives interactions - those few left are just not there anymore (along with huge part of old interactions for other heroes). I would just expect some new between them at least, but nope…we get her flirting with Phara and suddenly Phara revealed as gay and that´s it.

Is there even new voice lines where mercy is flirting with phara ?
I feel a lot of people come to some quick conclusions here that are not happening.

What we know is that Phara is gay and has somebody.
We don’t know who it is.

Also “knight in armor” is like the basic stereotype of “girl´s dream”.

Why is it now so important all of the sudden ?
Will this change anything on the relationship of genji and mercy ?

They can still be friends that talk to each other.
Genji can still gift mercy chocolate.

And I hope that some of the conversation are coming back.
But not only conversation/relationship from mercy and genji got removed.
A lot of other voice lines also not happening with missing maps, missing game modes (archive) and 5vs5.

This is not a target conspiracy against genji + mercy this is just the problems of ow 2 story overall.

I am nut sure, what´s your point. I just pointed out something, that´s been going on lately, that´s all.
And before you jump into any conclusion - I don´t care about character´s sexuality or preferences, but I care about good storytelling, cause that´s what I liked about Blizzard for years.
So yeah - I prefer Gency, over Pharmercy, cause Gency has a good base in lore, while Pharmercy is just feels “forced” to fit the flow.

Me too. And I feel a lot of this story telling would have happened in the PvE mode.
For me it just a big missed opportunity. That makes me still angry.

Personal I don’t care if mercy comes together with phara or genji… or maybe moira or maybe she steals tobjorn wife to get the pie recipe.

Is this really what matters ?
