Both? I mean Valorant after initial hype turned out to be CS GO clone with Overwatch spin. Who like it went for it who didnt stayed.

People realized that, oh, maybes Valorant won’t kill Overwatch because the only thing they have in common is that their characters use guns and abilities, thats that.

I mean multiple reasons exist. If they moved on, why post here? It’s not like your really going to change many minds and i wouldn’t doubt Blizzard shuts those threads down eventually for being off topic.

But like many games in the FPS Genre it’s probably dying off. Not a lot of inovation lately and most FPS games barely seem to last a few months. It’s easy to get millions of players when your the only game in town, when a new game comes out every 2-3 months it’s a bit harder to stand out.

If OW released today I don’t think it be half as popular. Much like games like PubG, it was popular because it was more or less first major battle royal game. If it came out now after Fortnight no one would pay any attention to it.

The people who like valorant left for valorant, but pretty much everyone else stopped talking about it because the game sort of failed.

Valorant is still pretty popular. And that’s with only 4 maps and only one game mode really.

It’s super relaxing compared to Overwatch though. I play it when I just want to vibe and relax.

Valorant is still the most popular game in terms of Twitch viewership, but I think people finally realized that it’s competing with Counter Strike, not Overwatch.

Edit: Looks like some other games are ahead, but I think they got updates or shift with time of day, but last week i definitely saw Valorant at #1.

Valorant kinda flopped. I’ve played it and the community is nonexistent… I love the gameplay and the balance is superior, but it’s not got the same feeling as Overwatch.

You dont need Valort and Overwatch to have much in common in order to kill one. Its still FPS vs FPS. Playerbase isnt ifnite. You cant just create game where you will have some spin to it and think there will be whole new aduience playin it. No FPS playerabse will look at it play it or quit it.

i did gave valorant a try but
CS type game is not my cup of tea and Valorant Gameguard scare me alot.
