I mean… yeah… mercy, the most mobile support didn’t need more mobility… bap didn’t need more free value buttons… i still don’t think zen needed 225hp…
I’m a gm+ support main, I think all these changes were definite powercreep that’s being put it as a bandaid to fix ques… because none of it makes sense from a balance standpoint.
Isnt that… exactly what defines almost every change that went live in past 2 years tho?
Dont get me wrong, I think most the changes are stupid. But lets not jump from “these changes are bad” to “they only did it for 4 days and will remove it”, even if I hope that would be the case. We all know the worst changes are those most likely to release.
It’s not more mobility though? It just makes her existing mobility accessible to anyone who plays Mercy and not just Mercy players who search youtube tutorials.
Her hitbox was arguably fairly easy to hit, but mercy during valk was still a pain to deal with. I’d be fine with her increased mobility as it is if they put it on a cooldown. Mercy being able to stay in the air indefinitely is going to be abused. Terrain was not designed for perma-flying characters, and damage falloff is a thing.
Gonna be honest here. The only people I’ve seen complain about OW2 are dps mains who are mad they don’t grt to 1-shot people so much anymore and support mains who haven’t figured out how to play their class in the new setup.
Other than that people seem to have a lot of good to say about it. If you ignore all the whining.
No, you can do entirely new things you couldn’t do before. You can superjump before even reaching your target, which doesn’t sound like a big deal but it’s a huge change.
I doubt theyll keep her like this because even as someone with like 2k hours on mercy this is a huge buff for the part of her kit that needs the least buffs lol
Mercy was stupid. Let’s let her hit the sky box at will. I also believe echo shouldn’t be able to. Pharah shouldn’t be able to sit on rooftops forever.
BIIIIIIG BUMP. Let me tell you why, the dds cannot aim. Most of them come from cod background with low mechanical and low teamwork skill. Only very few actually adapt. Also- since it increases the skill curve of killing supports- they get butthurt since it isn’t open season on us anymore.
Oh god you just inspired me to think of a new Mercy ultimate.
Mercy clips through the skybox and reaches up through the floor of the level, dragging one enemy teammate kicking and screaming back to spawn like the wallgrabbers from Legend of Zelda.
DPS one-tricks for you. Something is easy for them to kill, you just need to “gid gud”. Something takes more than just a pew-pew for them to kill, it’s suddenly “OP” and needs to get nerfed.
Doomfist mains had to adapt that their hero got turned into a tank.
Sombra mains had to adapt with the plethora of nerfs she got before finally getting to a good spot in OW1.
Widow mains had to adapt when she got her hp reduced to 175 and hook cooldown increased.
Hanzo mains had to adapt when they switched Scatter Arrow for Storm Arrow.
D.Va mains had to adapt when they changed how Defense Matrix worked and added Micromissiles.
Sigma mains had to adapt when they had to nerf his shield.
Orisa mains had to adapt when they nerfed her ability to put out shields so much.
Wrecking Ball mains had to adapt when they nerfed his infinite roll.
Do you see where I’m getting at here? Mercy’s “super jump” had everyone adapting for her, and not herself.
No. Because you’re doing some seriously impressive mental gymnastics to try and twist the facts to fit the false narrative you’re trying to paint.
Like, of course everyone else has to adapt to Doomfist being a tank. Of course everyone else had to adapt to storm arrow. Of course everyone else had to adapt to Sombra infinite stealth. Anytime a hero changes, everyone has to adapt to it. That’s what change is, and it doesn’t occur in a bubble away from everyone else.
Yeah no.
For one, Widow’s health and cooldown reduction was for herself, literally everyone did not do anything to change their gameplay to accommodate that.
Just take Bap’s recent change, nobody had to adapt to that because it fundamentally heals the same way it always does, only faster.
You misunderstand DPSlogic (it’s its own branch and quite difficult to follow at times). You see, support heroes should be extremely difficult to heal with. But they should never stand a fighting chance against a DPS. They should be ultimate batteries for Genji and Tracer.
They don’t want a fair fight, they just want their ultimate charge and their Q+M1 moment.
