What dps hero counter Hanzo?

I struggle with him alot. It always seems like they suddenly got GM lvl headshot accuracy against me and i cant do anything about it.

Heroes dont really counter other heroes. If you’re asking which heroes can not get instakilled, you can look at Bastion or Torb. If you want to know which heroes can instakill him back, Widowmaker and Sojourn exist. If you want heroes that are mobile and hard to instakill, Tracer and Genji work. Mei can also just wall his line of sight off.

Genji is good vs hanzo.

Tracer, Genji, and Sombra are your best bet against him. If you want to make him feel completely useless tho pick Ashe or Sojourn.

I main Ashe and Hanzo makes me swap off, got the same issue on Sombra.
My issue with Tracer and Genji is that you cant play them as a secondary as they are playing mechanically very different from other dps heroes. Base skills from playing Ashe dont transfer over.

Genji , good sojourn widow, pharah doesn’t counter but has a better time dealing with him.

Hanzo destroys both of them.

ignore that first guy, Bastion and Torb are literally the two worst DPS to play against Hanzo. Torb has a fat head hitbox & his turret is not allowed to exist vs a Hanzo, and Bastion’s tank-size hitbox catches storm arrows ez.

Your best bets are to either be a better sniper, or get in his face with Genji or Tracer. Aso make sure to listen for the sonic arrow sound effects and just walk away to another route o, don’t risk knowing the time. Echo can be good depending on the map; if it’s too open, her wings make her easy to hit with storm arrows, but on certain popular Hanzo spots you can jump up in front of him and combo him.

There is always the risk of getting one shot point blank, so nothing is fool proof.

Hanzo’s best overall counters are Dva, Winston and to a lesser degree Sigma.

I get that he had tank counters. I need solutions when i get rolled while being dps.
Maybe I`ll try Echo and see if i have a better time. I can play around storm arrows more than random base arrow headshot.

widow of equal skill , winston, sombra, hanzos mom

I don’t know about Tracer, man. I have a hard time vs Hanzo at close range and when I play Hanzo I find Tracer very managable. But I’m only Gold/Plat so maybe I’m not good enough.

First tip, better mechanical skill.
Yes, I know it’s obvious but it needed to be said.

Second tip, hero choice: On dps, you can go Junkrat and just spam grenades into wherever Hanzo’s hanging out. Bit hard to get anything done when you’ve got a half dozen grenades rolling around your feet. If that’s not your style, Genji or Tracer can use their mobility to flank him. Sombra is also a good choice for harassing any sniper. Soldier’s also a good choice.

You could also use Symm and do the whole TP-Sentry bomb thing. I don’t know how it works tbh. I don’t play dps outside of QP.

As a Hanzo main I agree with this, these are some of his most favorable match ups. Bastion might as well hold up a sign that says please use storm arrow on me.

What dps heroes do you struggle against?

As Hanzo? Echo, Sojourn, and Genji, not many play echo but I consider her to be extremely annoying to deal with too the point where it’s better off I switch.

Ding ding ding ding!

I have done this recently against stupid good hanzos, and it’s actually amazing:

-Hanzo is slowed down while drawing bow, so sticky bombs are great against him

-Echo has great air control with her cooldown, which makes him a horrible target for bow

-Again, since hanzo walks slow with drawn bow he’s a great target for Echo’s normal projectile fire too

You do need to be stupid aggressive though. Just spamming from a distance isn’t gonna cut it. You need to be in his face.

Outsnipe with Widow, but that match-up is skill based. A mid-tier Widow can get finessed easily by a solid Hanzo player who makes good use of wallhacks and off-angles. Otherwise Echo and Sojourn are the strongest counter-picks. Both have faster firing projectiles they can counter-spam angles with, and AOE that can punish corner-peeking shenanigans. More importantly both have strong movement they can use to either get into, or out of Hanzo’s optimal range, or swing wide around corners to avoid being punished by sonic arrow, and both are strong duellists in close who kill quickly which reduces the chances of him getting some lucky, hail-mary headshot.

That said if you don’t play around him properly you’ll still going to have issues unless you play Pharah and can get value living well up in the skybox all game. So turn up volume so you know when sonic arrow is being used, respect the wall-hacks, and if you have good movement most of the DPS roster have fair to favourable match-ups against Hanzo if you play to their strengths.

Avoid heroes who Hanzo trades well with like Torb and Bastion, or Ashe unless you’re a pro quick-scoper.

Genji, cassidy, widow is the best one, sojourn, tracer, reaper if you can get the drop on him etc. honestly fighting a hanzo comes down to just making yourself a hard target to hit by strafing and simply killing him. Hanzo can get countered and killed by literally anyone, it always comes down to you winning your duel. Unlike a pharah vs junkrat matchup where pharah wins 90% of the time, against a hanzo, any dps you play against him is always gonna be a 50% match up. No one hard counters hanzo and hanzo does not hard counter anyone.

Reaper, junkrat, mei, pharah, echo, moira, brig, rein, sigma, dva, winston, widow, sombra, basically a lot of heroes. You cant counter lucky headshots but you can make good head shots harder to get. If its a full team getting to hanzo with mei will be hard unless its 1 cp or you use sombra.

Ashe has a giant head hitbox and slows down while scoped and cant oneshot Hanzo even with Mercy pocket. If you trade, you lose. Hanzo counters Ashe.
