I will start directly from the main question: wtf?!?!?
Case: I was playing competitive game, we won the first round and on second round enemy team decided to surrender, so they didn’t leave their spawn. Looks like easy win, but they had Sombra, so I decided to stay on the point in order to keep it save from sneaky opponent. I went back and forth, used sonic arrow and I have never been in one spot longer than for several seconds. But unfortunately I received a message: you are going to be disconnected if you would stay inactive.
There was about 20 seconds till the end of the round and I got kicked for inactivity, received 10 min ban and lost ~50 SR. For staying at the point (1st point at Blizzard World) and keeping it under cover against their Sombra.
So, again, wtf should I do in match when enemies are not leaving their spawn to stay !@#$%^&* “active”??? What kind of “godlike” developer implemented such logic? Why it isn’t enough at least to move in order to stay “active”?!

Not doing damage for a certain amount of time can result in being kicked.
For healers this isn’t an issue as healing also counts to this factor.
This is to prevent players afk’ing with just a simple move script.
True the situation you’re in is indeed unique and sadly enough a tactic known to mess up matches. They should look into this issue as these types of scenarios really are just broken and one-sided issues.

Yup, I mean, this is just frustrating and it is better to have simple move script than what we have right now. I remember playing dm and I received these messages too cause I’ve ran through the map and wasn’t able to find anyone alive - everyone died before I came in :D… or if you missing a lot of shots. It doesn’t mean that I am afk or smth.
Anyway, being banned and to lose SR in such case is driving crazy tbh

Ehm, if you are talking about my case - no, I didn’t. I was in motion all the time and used abilities.
it happens more often than you’re acknowledging.
but in response to the OP, you can avoid it by standing near the spawn. if they don’t leave the spawn at all, they will get kicked instead. so you just have to stay at their spawn

Can I get to older replays than last 10 games? Cause I’ve played a lot since that moment.
Tbh, as far as I remember, of course there were moments when I was staying for several seconds at one spot. But it was really not so long. And when a banner appeared all over the screen with count down “you are gonna be disconnected in 10, 9, 8…” I started to shoot everywhere, use all abilities which left and move\jump like a crazy monkey.
There is no point to go on forum if I was just afk
it doesnt matter if you are using all of your abilities and moving around the system kicks you. happens a lot in custom lobbies

maybe your group leader was inactive and it also auto-kicked you?
Whatever it was it sounds like it wasn’t your fault. Bad news is the system is so automated that even if you manage to get a ticket through to an actual person the punishment will still stand.
The good news is that if you successfully complete a certain amount of matches in a row your hidden penalty level will reduce. (I have found it to be about 10 games…)

Damn I’m really sorry that happened. I’d be really pissed if that happened to me. Is there another way you can potentially report the issue and maybe get your points back? There has to be something you can do.
Join a game yourself (preferably a custom game, not comp lol) and run around not shooting anything, you will get kicked too. The timer for not moving at ALL is 45 seconds before you get kicked, but if you are doing 0 damage or healing or gaining any stats in general the game suspects you of using a simple anti-afk movement script and will kick you after a few minutes

Next time that happens maybe you can punch walls so you don’t mess up your accuracy stats. 
Generally, I can live with this as long as it happened to me once in several years. I saw this afk notifications before but was never kicked out of the game.
My intention is to find out whether it is okay, some kind of a script or it just a bug and to transfer this info to developers. Because when it happens - it is really frustrating.
