r/Overwatch2, decent generic everything
r/OverwatchUniversity, good detailed help on how to get better at the game
r/Overwatch, PotG spam and mods that arbitrarily delete stuff without tell you why, but it’s the most popular
r/CompetitiveOverwatch, Good discussion when it’s there but it’s kinda rare, more serious, but also usually very “infotainment” focused, if your posts aren’t focused on “infotainment” or about a Streamer/Pro, then don’t bother. Bulk of it is just gossip about who is getting traded to which team.
r/OverwatchTMZ, Bulk of it is just gossip about who is getting traded to which team, and why they are upset at each other
r/OverwatchMemes, Sometimes decent memes
It really isn’t though. I’ve certainly tried, but if you aren’t going there with basically a fully formed “presentation”. Then don’t bother.
That said, maaaaybe r/Overwatch2 might get some decent discussion on more theoretical posts.
Prefer it 100% over forums. People discuss lore, share funny moments, share news, conceptualise heroes and create wishlist such as future heroes, maps, cinematics and other things such as movies or Netflix series. Especially in the OW2 subreddit. Here it’s nothing but balance, complaints and sexuality. Look at the “story” discussion page for example. Should probably be renamed.
Happens here as well to be fair…
I feel like they are less willing to participate in long debates on any given topic. But that could just be due to the format of reddit which makes it hard to do that. But overall, I feel like the OW community on reddit is more satisfied with the way the game is than this forum.
I do partake in my share of “complainy” side too of this forum. But I do that because I like discussing about how the game could be better. It’s not that I hate the game, it’s just that I always see room for improvement in any game and I love talking about it. Since this forum has abundance of such topics, why not join the discussion.
Yeah, but usually you know why.
It’s annoying, but it’s mostly consistent.
It’s really not consistent…
Moderation in general in any space is just bad…
Especially when the moderators allow their own personal biases to influence how they deal with certain threads…
It’s why I much prefer /r/OverwatchFreeSpeech/ as well as my Discord both of which are moderation-free spaces…
I like to check it from time to time but it’s hard to find a good discussion or something interesting.
80% of that subreddit consists on people showing their POTGs. r/OverwatchUniversity is far more interesting.
I dont use reddit for overwatch, reddit is kinda idk a cesspool in general
Reddit’s issues continue into the Overwatch subreddit as well.
It’s filled with trolls and general ***** that insult people at every turn. At least when people insult others here it’s tempered at least a little. Not over there from what I’ve seen.
Someone could post a vid of them doing some sick jumps around a map as Lucio and get several replies insulting them for being a “disgusting Lucio otp” or whatever.
Any opinion is met with a large amount of people calling them stupid for having it, no matter what it is. Happens here, yeah, but way more over there.
There’s also downvote bombing. Some people don’t agree with your opinion? Enjoy your -40 and subsequently reduced karma.
I’d stay far away from it.
the problem with the forum is that every comment bumps a post up to the top
every
comment
and troll posts and complaint posts are comment bait. its bad forum design imo
