What do you think about the Stadium 17 Hero Challenge?

I’ve been through Olympus, Gauntlet, and PVE Legend

The stadium is harder than that freaking challenge

It’s limited to competitive play and the play time is too long

Can’t we just do it by number of plays rather than by victory achievement?

Please only create tasks that are moderately painful

It’s too harsh to try to get 1 win for each of the 17 heroes

The competitive play aspect isn’t really that relevant since everyone starts at the bottom, so I don’t really take it as serious as a placement based ranking. I don’t think you lose points either, at least so far since I’ve played a bit at the rookie rank my losses hasn’t cost me anything other than time and then rewards me with like +175% points on wins. Not sure if the later ranks lose points but I think their intention is to get us to grind.

The challenges are meant to be pointless and impossibly difficult, so that you can feel proud for about 20 seconds after completing them. That dopamine hit makes it all worth it.

Would be nice if it was Complete instead of Win.

It’s not too bad. In 2 days I’ve gotten D.Va, Junkerqueen, Ashe, Cass, Genji, Ana, and Juno. 60 days is plenty of time to complete it while trying out all the characters and seeing what sort of builds they can have.

To be fair, the Stadium Challenges are for the entire season 60+ days so you’re not meant to grind it out in a week!

I think its absolutely bs for those that want to do it. Just leave it at play a game with each hero. I say just abandon your quest.

I just feel all that work and time for meager comp points, a lame soldier recolor, an Orisa recolor, two loot boxes, and meh titles ain’t worth it.

I like some of the heroes in 3rd person like Orisa, but not a fan of Reaper or Dva in that view.

Personally it lacked addictive replay.

Because it feels like if I or my teammates don’t have the right build you get rolled.

And the same if the enemy doesn’t have the right build.

I don’t feel like I’m out playing anyone as much as the power I pick rolls over an enemy’s ability.

If you pointed a gun at my head and gave me two choices, climb to Champion rank in 5v5 Role Queue or actually win a game in Stadium as Genji

I’ll take my chances with the road to Champion.

I think it’s doable with the time available, but I’m not aiming for it and I 100% feel it should have been “play” not “win”. I’d need to be turbo carried to win on Ashe, so I’m going for basically any other Stadium challenges for the lootbox prize. I don’t mind playing the mode a lot because I am enjoying it, but trying to choke out a win on Cass/Ashe and possibly Genji? Nah man, ain’t happenin, I know my limits.

i havent even touched it as im not comp material

I think the game needs to give me credit for Kiriko on the game we won by having the entire enemy team leave on this challenge. It’s a victory on my match history and yet no prog for the 3 support wins or the 17 hero challenge

I’ve completed 7 wins on the 17 Hero Challenge, and completed every other challenge available on Stadium, so far.

Biggest difficulty was doing the 3 win Supports. Largely because… well the Builds aren’t all that great save for a specific few, and it’s a confusing mess when Ability Power and Weapon Power can both affect healing outputs depending on which healer you’re playing.

The best choices I’ve found were Moira, Lucio, Juno and Mercy. Kiriko - no matter which build I tried, pretty fell flat and just couldn’t keep up. Ana, likewise, has to split her healing focus between Weapon Power or Ability Power (pump up that Biotic Grenade healing).

Otherwise, Pulsar Torpedoes works really well when properly stacked with Ability Power, and you’re focused on healing your team with doing damage to the enemy team as a side-bonus. Doesn’t quite keep up with Moira’s healing output, but then again, very few things do.

The other big problems with Supports is not having a competent co-Support. So if you’re struggling on a build and trying to eek out value, you pretty much have to work even harder as your co-Support decides that it thinks killing targets or feeding is more fun than doing their basic job. Saw way too many Lucio’s and Juno’s propelling ahead then using their speed abilities to run even further ahead of the team.

Just grab BOB, shrink him down to size and pick up the dynamite talents for rounds 1 and 3, stack ability power and you should okay on your own. Later, if needed, you can pick up Healing BOB, or Lava Dynamites for further damage and low-ish skill damage.

If you’re good shot, you’re better off with Viper ADS stuff. But it is surprising to see how a much weaker - but much faster - BOB works on these matches.

Not going to succeed without some level of self-healing with these low-ranking/low-skilled Supports. Soldier’s great for this, Mei too. Reaper and Ashe also have some limited self-healing; but I have seen a lot of Reapers out healing Supports.

Genji requires a bit more finesse. He’s actually got fewer choices than the rest of the cast in the Damage-role, right now. Dragonblade builds work, but you need to pump up Weapon Power to really make it shine; and it still won’t last forever.
