I have no issue with them, let people play what they want to play. I’ll prob get hate for that but it’s a game get over it people. I don’t even one trick but really get peeved when people report or call out someone who does.

Mostly it just seems a little impractical. If you only know how to play one hero, you’re going to get screwed over eventually.

If the one trick is good with their character then why be mad? Do I think it’s silly to play a game with so many wonderful characters but only play one? Yep. But hey I mean I’d rather someone play a character they are competent with than a character they don’t know how to play with.

Don’t care. Play whatever you want.

Flexibility is great. Not mandatory.

I give them a chance to show they are good. But if we loose the first point, or even second because of them and they refuse to switch then I will report and ask everyone else to. Its unfair to ruin the game for others because you dont want to particpate in a team game or learn to play a 2nd hero.

I don’t hate them but that doesn’t mean I like them ; neutral. On a side note, I find it rather ignorant and ironic how a lot of people here tend to hate on DPS mains yet for one-tricks, it’s all right.(Especially when the one-trick is on a DPS role)

I hope you know you can get banned for abuse of the report function

It’s not abuse the situations im talking about for example I watched a torb put a turrent on the point and stand in the room with a health pack… for most of the game. Ive seen syms who cant kill anything but refuse to switch. But thank you for your warning.

I kind of hate them for the most part - no matter what the character they’re playing as. There’s always going to be those situations where they’ll need to switch and just won’t, whether that’s getting hard countered to the point of feeding or there’s another one trick on the team taking your character.

Thankfully this only really applies to hard one tricks - the people that refuse to swap even when they’re getting practically spawn camped or throw when they don’t get to do what they want.

I’ve not seen many of the type lately though, which I’m grateful for.

a) if he put turret on the point he’s contributing. If he’s AFK he can get reported
b) ā€œoh noes someone is bad at a hero report themā€

I think that a game is perfectly entitled to have one tricks, if there is no mid game hero swap. However, overwatch is a game of counters and you can constantly change heroes, so one tricks shouldn’t be allowed into comp at least…

lets hard counter them!!

There’s a lot of controversy over one-tricks. Some say they they should be free to play whoever they want, when they want. Some others agree that as Overwatch is a team game, people should switch picks to work as a team and counter the enemy.

I think playing just one hero is pretty selfish, especially if you utterly refuse to change just for the sake of one-tricking. If you’re playing a certain hero and are getting hard countered by the enemy, you’re just causing your team very much unneeded stress. I think one-tricking and not/refusing to co-operate as a team should be valid grounds for a report.

There’s a difference between heavily maining a hero and being willing to switch and onetricking. I think heavily maining a hero is fine. Onetricking can ruin games if the enemy counters the onetrick and they refuse to switch.

They werent at the point yet so he was basically afk ^^ and you can play other heros badly and contribute more then if you refuse to switch off a hero that is being badly countered and still preforming poorly. These are just my experiences and my opinion of one tricks… at the end of the day you are allowed to report poor teamwork.

I don’t care what other people do, I just want to play the game and have fun.

too predictable…

27 heroes now and you can’t bother to learn more than 1? Even if your hero is ā€œMetaā€ they don’t always work and the meta changes.

It’s a game built around teamwork and counter picking they are bad for the game pure and simple get one in your team that’s countered it’s a loss get two that share the same hero it’s a loss, when they get to pick what they want and people play around them it works but queuing with the intention that everyone has to bow to your will and your choice is more valid that 5 other people on your team is again bad for the game.

The only solution I can see is a one trick queue where they only play with each other or a role queue.
