I’m not complaining here, just looking for advice.
So I’m a projectile dps main in “the worst rank” AKA Gold. I was about to be in Plat at 2455, but then tragedy struck and I found myself on a week-long loss streak to 2255. I’ve been clawing my way back up recently so now I’m in 2366. What do you do when you get these streaks? How do you bounce back from them?
Would be appreciated!

I stopped playing ranked for a season. Came back today and had a great time shotcalling.

Yeah, shot-calling is really rewarding when you’re doing it correctly and people listen. Too bad I’m garbage at it omegalul

I was playing Lucio/Rein, so I was in a good position for it. I learn a lot of calling from just watching streams.

I climbed about 400 SR in total this past 2-3 days. I had about at least 4-5 losing streaks and it was pretty annoying. At some point, I lost 1 and won 1 gaining 0 SR overall. When you’re at a losing streak, the best thing to do is to not get tilted. You need to keep calm and analyze what you could have done better in the past games that you lost. Yes, you might have gotten bad teammates but don’t always blame it on your teammates. For me, the games I lost I flex’d tank because we have 2 other support mains and I am okay at tanking. However, due to my inexperience, I sometimes did not watch my backline as often as I wanted or that one time when I accidentally peaked the enemy’s sniper because I didn’t realize that my team’s tank’s shield was down. Analyze your positioning and watch streams. Most importantly, you should take a break if you are on a losing streak if you are getting frustrated. If you’re frustrated, you’ll come off as such when you team chat and your teammates may get tilted with you. Good luck!

              -open up Overwatch Forums
-Rage my teammates are trash, my opponents are all smurfs, that matchmaker is busted, and that tilt isn’t a thing
-argue with others meaninglesly with my anecdotes
-read a certain, debunked, outright untrue post for whatever reason allowed here
-network with other whiners and never climb
-have a teary, “I quit! This game is trash!” post
-fire it up the next day in a better mood and regain my SR
What the forums do^
I recently had a huge tilt and lossed 400 SR. I’m already back 250 of it or so. Tilt is a thing and we all experience it. Typically I quit while ahead but was in a tizzy. It served me well! Not!

Though I would argue that Plat is the worst rank, my advice would be to not play into losing streaks.
Comp is like playing a slot machine. You may think, “I’ve lost so much, I’m sure to win if I keep playing.”
Unfortunately, as with a slot machine, you can play until you have nothing left without ever breaking even again.

              Aw that sucks man!
Based on my experiences, this isn’t too abnormal. I started out at 1922 sr (first season for me) and I flip flopped from the 1700s to the 1800s and sometimes 1900s. The lowest I ever got was 1655. I played about 35 hours that season and I never really hovered around a certain sr range (if I did at all it was 1800 for a while). Eventually I grinded enough to get to gold and then stopped for the season.
Currently I’m low plat. Earlier today I was 2455 with a career high of 2568 and now I’m over 100 sr above that with a high of 2671 sr If youre losing a lot and then gaining it back just as easily then you are at your rank because you are winning and losing the same amount of games, just in streaks.
TL;DR
Don’t worry about it and just keep playing unless you derank to silver. Then you should be concerned.

one season I was on a horrible losing streak…around 900 sr gone in less than 2 days…I took a week off from the game…literally didn’t even look at Overwatch and played other games. I got too frustrated and I wasn’t going to play well or help the team in that state of mind.
If it doesn’t bother you then continue playing…the only way to gain SR is to play A LOT…I’m talking hundreds of games per season…so if it doesn’t bother keep going if it does stop for a while…w/e you think is best
