What do people who play Bastion think about themselves?

I can’t understand what their mentality is. Do you just want to win games with the least amount of skill possible?

Is playing the regular skill characters just too hard for you?

I can’t get through a single game without seeing him on the enemy team and I just let out a huge sigh every single time I see him. Even when I stomp him, I don’t even feel good or have fun doing it.

I almost feel sorry for the people playing him, in a weird way. He’s just so brainless that I guess Blizzard made him for trash players who can’t aim. I don’t even know what to say.

I wouldn’t complain if I didn’t see him in literally every normal/ranked game.

Console players even in diamond ELO seem to think he’s a good pick for some reason. Kind of like it tho because I’m a Hanzo/Tracer main for DPS primarily and is easy to farm.

if my tank is losing the tank fight, sometimes I play bastion to burst their tank down. If a hero can bring me victory, I’ll play it.

Welp, just got out of another match where a Bastion and Soldier sat in a corner mowing everyone down using zero skill.

Great game.

You keep saying this… but I feel like Bastion, being a hitscan, at least requires some aim. And his recon form which he’s in most of the time now requires decent aim to be useful.

i guess im just not sure where you get that hero difficulty is the only metric most people use for what makes OW fun
i would argue the majority of heroes don’t take that much “skill”, but their kits and hero designs can be fun regardless

i mean realistically, what’s the point of this post? to convince bastion players that are having fun that they actually aren’t, or just to be annoyed that people are having fun with a hero you don’t personally like? there are tons of heroes that i don’t find fun that clearly lots of people do, i don’t then feel compelled to write up ranty forum posts about it regardless of that hero’s difficulty level

They’re having fun specifically because he’s brainless.

What annoys me is that “fun” is basically how easy something is. League/Dota 2 have this exact same problem as well.

The most “fun” characters are almost always the most brainless. And I hate that attitude among gamers that a skilled/hard character isn’t as “fun” (cause it requires effort).

how do you figure? tons of difficult heroes relative to the rest of the roster are enormously popular in this game. what heroes do you consider difficult, out of curiosity?

Well not everyone see’s a game like a job which unless you play tournaments to earn money then no one should. I don’t see bastion as easy mode especially what is only easy is to be a tank buster. But even at my range its not a hero that gives too much problems.

Also not saying what you are playing then makes it like whatever… since i could say probably tank which most of them aren’t that difficult and if its Cassidy (cuz of profile pic) i mean like auto aim grenade i would also not say that is difficult. Anyway whatever hero you play there can be said something that it is not a hard hero to play with.

He has 1.44% pick rate in QP this month so you must be quite unlucky or just exagarrating.
You know who’s the most picked hero in QP? Press E to win Cowboy.
Bastion is really only a good counter to Reinhardt so you don’t have to spend half of your playtime unloading on a 2000 HP shield.

i didn’t want to assume purely based on the pfp, but cass is honestly easier to get value out of than bastion if you have generally poor positioning and slightly better than mediocre aim…definitely not so difficult that i’d snark at other mains for their preferences, lol

Recon’s hit box js as large or larger than some tanks.

He is easy to hit. If the bastion player is coordinating with their team, counter by (shock! Gasp!) coordinating with your team and burst him down.

This sounds like a you problem.
