I don’t understand what it means. So it means diva? Dive word honesty cousfion me.

A dive hero is any hero that can quickly engage a target.

Such heroes include:
Winston, D.va, Tracer, Genji, Wrecking Ball (I think).

Dive itself was a mega back during seasons 5-7ish And basically consisted of fast mobile characters (ie genji, tracer, Winston, Dva) using their mobility to go past the frontline and “dive” on the supports in the back line.

Oh I was thought dive means dive in water. Also is Doomfist dive?

The “Dive” meta generally involves a Zenyatta discording a target, and then the rest of the team jumping on it to get a kill really quickly and securing a numbers advantage. Then the Zenyatta discords another target and the process continues.

Dive heroes typically refer to those of high mobility. The classic dive composition was:

Winston, Dva, Tracer, Genji, Lucio, Zen.

Zen discords the target of the dive, and the other heroes use their mobility to all engage and focus fire on that singular target.

When people refer to dive heroes, it’s typically those with high mobility that have the ability to determine when and where to engage an enemy.

He kinda could be, yeah. He wasn’t a part of dive meta when it was around but depending on your playstyle doom can be a dive character

In all seriousness, a “Dive hero” is a hero who has amazing mobility and close-range combat capability. They usually work together to converge, or “dive” onto a single target, usually a valuable healer that’s been hit with a Discord Orb.

The usual strategy of a Dive hero is as follows:

  1. Identify target
  2. Get right up to target’s face
  3. Melt target
  4. Get out

Mobility is the name of the game. Everything you do, you do it quick.
