Last season, I was a Masters 1 tank, GM5 dps, and a GM1 support.
I got ranked diamond 1 tank, masters 5 dps, and masters 4 support. Does this seam about right?
I was diamond support and plat dps and now im gold support and silver dps… dropped 2 categories on each. My support games went well it seemed, won most but still dropped a lot. My dps placements went terribly, it just seemed that each time the other team had a former masters or GM dps or two and just walking over my team and I couldn’t compete with that as just a former plat dps. It was especially bad when there was a sweaty widow on their team. It was a bit of a mess overall but I guess that’s to be expected with a rank reset, a lot of good players are way under-ranked it seems.

Yeah, the metal ranks I think will have it the worst until the better players make it out
Support I was with a friend who got placement starts at bronze. No idea how.
Got him g4 and I got g1 from almost diamond. Lost 2 matches at the end.
Tank from d5 to plat 3. Got a game with 3 people gm/master for 5 straight seasons and they got plat 3 somehow. Matched 3 times and… Well I went 7/3.
I was D5 in both DPS and Support and llaced Gold 2 in both.
This is the same “reset” they pulled in the past, nothing new.
Have everyone’s SR drop about 5ranks or more, to force another grind cycle.
It doesn’t matter if you go 0-10 or 10-0.
However your hidden mmr is still the same, so nothing has changed internally.
It’s just a fake psychological “reset”, dust thrown to the players eyes.
Matchmaking system is still as atrocious as ever though.

im going through the same thing right now. Was plat supp currently fighting for my life in gold 2. Ive lost 7 games in a row so far and the last game I checked enemy support was previously a master player on supp and grandmaster on dps like yup cool makes perfect sense id be going against them other than that every game has been a stomp

It seems like the other team usually has the former GM carry dps and mine has actual silver dps. It also seems like support is back to being reliant on your dps being good or you just lose, lack of agency like OW2 beta. I think the best thing you can do is just play a support that can put out consistent dps pressure like zen or bap and focus on killing and toss out some heals when you aren’t busy. im having more fun on dps now even when im losing.

my M5 account got place to D5 on support.
my D2 account got placed in D4. Figured that one out. (tho this account was M3 until I decided to throw my ranked in the trash by playing on last week of last season and drop down to diamond lmao)
Was GM1 dps got demoted to masters 4 masters 3 rn with a 65% wr and I gain no points so I win one and gain like 22% win streak I gain 19% I lose 40 from one loss
same as before. Multiple accounts different ranks proving no reset was done as usual lol. Games a joke, stick to QP.
ive only done my support so far and got d4
its not far off from where i was, i ended last season support on d1 or d3 i think.
Had two accounts in Masters and the placement matches were so different from each other when it comes to quality that it looked like those were two different elos. Placed Diamond 3 on one and Diamond 4 on the other. Was M5 and M3 last season.
I had never had less fun than this Season doing these placement. It was the most pointless, demotivating s*it show I have ever witnessed. Forcing a grind to get back where you should have been to begin with.
The majority of my matches were a stomp. Either we stomped or the enemy did. All of the matches were enemy having double digits in stats and my team barely like 5 kills and vice versa. IN the 20 placements matches that I did (on both accounts) I had maybe 2 or 3 games that were close where my team won in overtime.
The MMR did not change. I still played with and against people I did last season. Saw streamers placing M1 or M2. Basically GM is Masters now and Masters is Diamond.
Have seen that the grind after the placements is an uphill battle as well. Atrocious system that they introduced.

Yea I’ve switched over to playing more Moira, Zen, Kiri and it’s been helping a bit more with the games. Still fighting for my life because like you said the enemy team always seems to have to high rank carry on their side and ur team doesn’t but eh I think I’ve won my last 4 games so hopefully that continues

Was plat 5 last season. Went 6-4 for placements and i got Plat 5. Nothing changed, all good.
