We know the abilites, not the numbers perfectly but we know the abilites so, what counters her?
I think before the beta begins we should think of counters otherwise people will overcomplain she is too broken.
First that comes to mind Mei, Reaper.
Mei is a huge counter to Rein and it seems junkerqueen will play similar to him but more aggressive. Mei wall and her slow will hurt Junkerqueen’s tempo and maker her much slower even with her speed buff. Plus if she gets hit with Junkerquens “pull” she can iceblock.
Reaper. He is the tank buster and she has no shields or ways to stop him so I think reaper would be good.
Brigitte for supports. I think her whipshot would be a great tool. Junkerqueen has no shields or ways to block it so, perhaps she is a counter.
Other heroes I think will work but I don’t know how interactions will work:
Zarya. She can bubble a pulled target and m a y b e cleanse the bleed with her bubbles.
Ana. I don’t know if she is getting ability changes because they did say they are going to look at supports abilites. If she doesn’t get changed I think ana is good.
probably things that slows her down she seems to be all about snowballing and aggresion so like mei or bastion characters who are good at slowing down the game
JQ whole shtick seems to be to heal herself a bunch with her passive and boost allies. Nade presumably will counterplay that a lot.
Of course, we haven’t seen numbers on how long any of this last yet so it’s hard to say. Like how long does her extra health to herself and allies plus speed boost ability last.
Ana is as good vs Queen as she is vs Roadhog. They share too much. So she will make her a pain to play. I will say it again: Ana needs changes for OW2.
She seems to have a short effective range, relying on pull and speed boost to close the gap. If you can play outside her range in hard-to-reach spots like high ground, you should have the advantage; so, snipers, 76, Ashe, etc. are still going to be strong.
Tanks don’t have any strict counters or soft counters. Since most Tanks are designed with a ‘generalist’ design and incredibly high defenses, it usually requires some teamwork or effort to remove them.
With that said, the surest way to kill anything in Overwatch will work in killing a Tanks; focus-fire.
The moment Mei Iceblocks, or Cryo-freezes, the moment she gives up the fight and forces a stalemate. At that point, Queen wins or simply moves out of Mei’s range.
Reaper is not a Tank buster, and Queen doesn’t appear large enough to be fully hit with Reaper’s shots.
Wouldn’t matter; Queen brings the target to them, or she’ll ultimate to close the gap.
Zarya’s projected barriers always act as clears with some special exceptions. But it wouldn’t matter too much. Zarya and Queen would be an even match, given that they’re both Tanks and both have ways of reducing damage or out right negating it.
Ana won’t counter a Tank, solo. It’s jut not not possible.
Nothing “works well” in defeating Roadhog except focus fire; which he also has some defense against.
Ana doesn’t counter Roadhog. Ana throws grenade, Roadhog hooks and kills. Ana is dead, and Roadhog lives.
I will also add that Reaper can use Wraith to escape/cleanse her dagger, since it doesn’t stun like Hog’s hook. Also, having a cleanse to shrug-off her ult will be a boon as well.
Queen seems very vulnerable to dive (low control against high mobility targets) and poke damage (short range like hog). I don’t think she’ll impact the meta too much, maybe compete with Rein on maps like King’s Row but not much value on maps like Gibraltar.
Unlike Rein’s barrier, Orisa’s barrier/spin, Winston’s bubble, Zarya’s bubbles, D.va’s DM, or Sigma’s barrier/grasp, Hog doesn’t have any way to block Sleep Dart or Antinade.
He’s also the most immobile tank, and his only tank/sustain ability is easily canceled with Sleep’s stun effect (if antinade to deny it wasn’t enough).
Also, either Nano or Sleep can easily shut-down Hog’s follow-up if he actually does land a hook. And Ana is a sniper support, so she shouldn’t be in range of Hog’s hook anyways.
Sleep countered Hog so hard that the OW2 beta changed his ult into a transformation instead of a channel, despite all stuns (except Ana) being removed or weakened.
