What could be done to make Mercy more engaging to play?

Nope.She could literally Dash into the air to get away from enemies.

Which she does now, you just want her to do it less so she’s easier to kill, correct?

Well with like a 3 second CD.It isn’t much.And allows for more versatile mobility.
When she dashes into the air a certain distance,she would slowly descend.

What about a situation where two people are down, you can only Rez one. Is there not strategy involved in deciding whether to rez the tank or a dps, accounting for ults and which one will help you win the fight? The beauty about mass rez was that you didn’t have to choose between single targets when tempo rezzing, just the best interval of time to do it. New rez requires both of those decisions, who and when.

Make all healers be responsible for doing some damage. Healbots should stay in WoW.

I wouldn’t mind Mercy being reworked into a more offensive oriented healer. Make her resemble a guardian angel that heals her allies and smites her enemies with holy power.

That’s literally the way to go if you want current mercy players to not play overwatch ever again.

Make resurrect earnable, not freely given every 30 seconds. Reduce the duration of Valkyrie, take away chain beams and give a much more focused and potent beam instead (this allows Mercy to target prioritise throughout Valkyrie).

Strategy would be like the olden days, ā€œI can rez Reinhardt and Reaper now but I’m pretty sure Zarya will get her ult again before I do. Do I take that chance?ā€ Or ā€œI won’t be able to find cover from this Dva bomb but rezzing this Widow will keep us both in the fight.ā€

Considering her auto lock-on and consistent healing output,making it earnable wouldn’t make it ā€œearnedā€ if you know what I mean.If she needed to snipe like Ana it would be a diferent story.

However her punishment is that if she dies then that’s time lost in ā€˜earning’ resurrect. You could also make it so that any ā€˜charge’ earned for resurrect is lost upon Mercy’s death. Punishes bad positioning and recklessness. Also punishes her team for not helping protect her when she needs some protection.

Engaging from a mental perspective or engaging from a mechanical perspective?

The two are rather different and the way you’d go about doing it might be reversed.

Remove her rez ability and give her an anti-heal beam.

Considering her healing is 50 hp/sec I would make it so that she would have to heal atleast 2500 hp to get the rez

My point still stands. It all boils down to those 3 things with new rez, and if multiple people are down, I can tell you I’m either bringing the tank/other healer back or the one with no mobility.

There’s no strategy in that.

Swap Rework:
Q becomes one instant 5m range resurrect, charge time should be slightly faster than Moira’s ult.
E becomes Valkyrie that only has the flying and +30 HPS to whichever beam she is using. so 90 HPS or 30 HPS and 30% boost. Lasts 4 seconds 12s CD.

No Swap:
E: nerfed via letting EVERYONE see the Mercy souls.
Q: Chain beams removed. Beam length removed. Beams 2x normal strength.
Leave her base healing at 60 HPS.

That’s pretty rare though.

Why don’t they just make Q able to heal multiple people at once,but can’t fly.
Remove lock on from Guardian angel
And make rez earnable maybe

Because a lot of the skill in Mercy’s base kit is knowing who needs which beam when and who needs it the most.

Chain beams nukes that requirement from orbit, and that’s really the thing I’ve always hated about Valkyrie.

Edit: A free flying GA would be pretty awesome though.
