What are the devs doing?

I know you say this in anger but it is a very very true statement.

No one wanted to do it this way. Not even the devs.

There was a direct push back from owl sponsors that lead to this. It’s a shame. It really is.

they do not! They confirmed this thing. The past several years up through a year before launch they were bsically all working on the PVE aspect of the game!

then a year ago they swapped focus to pump out the PVP part of OW as fast as possible! The game is in this state bc they were rushed <3 to get the shop interface fixed.

(wonder what that was in response to lol)

Yeah the fact that they refuse to touch Sojourn, possibly cause she is the poster child of the game is very concerning. Its quite tiresome to get one tapped by a railgun repeatedly and the AOE is irritating to go up against.

She’s quite blatantly overloaded and overtuned.

Ah, just like Tracer when Overwatch first released: she was quite dominant in competent hands, and the refusal to change her led to a plethora of really unnecessary changes.

Although, they did, eventually, adjust her, but by then the damage was already done.

Yup pretty much. Me and my friends were all making the comparisons immediately when we saw the patch notes. Games going to be rough if their keeping this mentality.

Rail Gun Charge needs a cool down. A small one because it’s easy to get charge and just fire whenever you want. I think everything else is ok, maybe slight changes to the aoe slow

Reverse overheat, perhaps? As in, they can’t fire the railgun until they reach maximum heat from continual fire.

Well, more like once you fire, it needs to chill before firing again. And not some 10 seconds, just 2 seconds I think is a good start. But that’s only an idea, and the actual problem could be something else

They’re busy feeding the Mei in the basement while poking her wall bug with a stick.

In all seriousness though, I’m starting to doubt Blizzard’s this incompetent, but pretty sure they deliberately cycle through hero optimization to feign meta evolution.

All show and no integrity. It’s pathetic.

i think the people who said their doomfist got banned for playing doomfist are lying. wheres the evidence? they probably wrote toxic crap in general chat.

There is a lot of proof of doomfist players being harassed at the very least, thats enough to me

The devs don’t care. That’s why I quit the game and why I urge everyone else to quit. This game is a total disaster and the only reason it exists is to sell you cosmetics.

That’s not true, it also exists to provide good cinematics lol. Its a good thing i can enjoy those without playing the game.

i wont say that you’re wrong, but the gameplay is also very good, that is why i play. you cant tell me that the gameplay of overwatch is bad, its better than most fps on the market rn. its fun to play. yes i have a lot of complaints, but they aren’t gameplay related. and as far as balancing complaints, well they tend to throw around random sledgehammer nerfs all throughout the lifecycles of the games. complaints like doomfist being mildly underpowered mean absolutely jack all to me, he will be buffed eventually. im more concerned with the automated ban system and harassment from players, than whether doomfist is marginally underpowered at the current moment.

The gameplay is good but it’s offset by poor hero balance and bad matchmaking.

ok if youre going to go that route, tell me which games you feel are perfectly balanced? all competitive games in existance have balance issues, and thats why they put out patches to rebalance things, and keep it fresh. theres always going to be a meta pick reguardless though. theres no such thing as perfect balance, and even if there was, it would be VERY boring to play. and the “bad matchmaking” is from a shortage of players, which is probably because they screwed up the launch, or because the players are being too toxic for the mainstream community. the player toxicity has nothing to do with the ovepriced shop, because theyre targetting doom players just to try and blackmail blizzard into changing the hero, using other people as human sacrifices. it doesnt matter if its a protest against the shop, a hero change, whatever, theyre abusing the system to demand things.

Nothing is perfectly balanced. Overwatch is generally unbalanced, and I’m okay with that. I like overwatch MORE when we have these sporatic meta’a with random characters dominant over others. Its fun. I may be alone in that, but i really do feel that way.

However, just like overwatch 1, the issue isn’t the meta’s, its how long blizzard takes to change things. Is sojourn being op okay? Sure. Doom being less than good? Yeah fine. But for over a month? Absolutely not.

It’s okay to have balance the way blizz does, but you have to be very frequent with changes.

There was a span of time in i believe it was 2021…? Where we were getting balance patches like every 2 weeks and it was awesome. We need to go back to that.

A minor patch once a month and major patch every 2 months is not gonna cut it with balance like this.

i hard disagree with you, blizzard applies balance changes more than any other developer in gaming. they are widely known for their sledgehammer nerfs. hell they popularized the term “nerf” and “buff” as far as im concerned. i actually fear when they go crazy and alter the game from its origins, with balance overhauls. if anything, i like some consistency.

They have in the past, but they also have had spans where they don’t for a long time.

Ironically, some of the worst times the game has ever gone through were those periods where balance was slow.
