Are the latest scenes the non-flashback scenes Honor and Glory? Rise and Shine?
The storyline is so fu***d up right now that it’s hard to know.
It’s difficult to say exactly when Dragons, Alive, Hero, The Last Bastion, and Infiltration take place. There aren’t any significant clues that that cue us in as to when they take place.
Rise & Shine takes place before and after “Recall”, since it was the recall announcement that literally saved Mei’s life and brought her out of cryofreeze before the last battery died.
Honor and Glory takes place after Recall as well, even though most of it was a flashback.
Shooting Star takes place after Recall, as there are background details about Overwatch coming back together.
I always put bastion’s video right before the recall video. I always assume Bastion is the last character to join the story.
Yeah, but we have to keep the comics in mind as well. “Binary” shows that Torbjorn has adopted Bastion, and some of the in-game sprays reflect that Bastion is part of the “family” now, as it were.
There is no definite timeline of the events that we have seen unfold so far in the present day of the universe. For all we know they could all take place within a week or so. The writing team just needs to release a timeline. An official one.
Sure, we don’t know WHEN each story takes place from each other, but we do know which ones take place after Recall, which sets up a
that take place in the story.
These have a clear progression of events and take place within a reasonably shot period of time based on the Doomfist comic:
Recall
Cinematic Trailer (The Museum)
Alive
Infiltration
Honor and Glory:
Takes place after Recall but presumably before the Cinematic Trailer, otherwise Rein would be with them.
Rise and Shine:
Takes place after Recall.
There’s no context clues as to when these may take place:
Shooting Star
Last Bastion
Hero
Dragons
Honor and Glory takes place after Rise & Shine, as Mei set out to respond to Winston’s message less than 2 days after he sent it out. We know that much.
Shooting Star has some very, VERY subtle hints in the literal background that indicate that OW has begun to reform.
I think we can take something from Hero to put it in some perspective. Supposedly at this point, Lumerico is run by its original CEO, Guillermo Portero. Or at least, I believe that’s what we would’ve understood at the time.
There’s the obvious point that Sombra hadn’t entered the “canon” at this point in our time, but it could obviously take place in-world before or after any of her involvement.
Is there anything in-world you can think of in Hero that points to Lumerico’s state & therefore the chronological relation to Sombra’s involvement in Infiltration?
It’s nothing huge, but the broad strokes have been laid out already so xD.
