As the “Pocket King” short story tells us, Maximilien no longer sees benefits from a partnership with Talon but what exactly is he planning to do? I see a couple of options here, one is to destroy Talon altogether by sharing all necessary information (the data copied in the story) with Overwatch and other interested parties and another is to target Doomfist directly and become a leader of Talon himself (like he did with Monte Carlo powerhouses). The first option would be somewhat easier for him since he would only need to share data and pull a few strings and the job would be done for him but it is not without risks, Talon is a powerful organization with lots of resources and manpower and Overwatch just gathered again already having a lot on their plate. The other option is dangerous because, as mentioned in the story, Talon’s inner circle expanded. There are definitely gonna be some individuals who would be ready to fight for a chance to control such force. But Max is smart, he can make some allies who would help him with this task, someone like Sombra who is clearly not interested much in Talon’s objectives and is pursuing her own goals. These are just two possible ways for the story to unfold that came to my mind but as someone who likes Max’s character, I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next.
