I expect Tanks AND SUPPORTS to have their mitigation cut into tiny little pieces.
Half the OW2 heroes need reworks, because they were released as overtuned garbage.
Sigma and Baptiste need to be executed because they were the biggest two factors behind that high sustain cancer-fest at the end of OW1. Orisa could also use some nerifng too, just in case and no one likes her anyway.

My hope is that because itāll be more than the vocal minority testing it, weāll get a real answer as to which format is more popular.

I still donāt know the format we expect for it, so not sure. Iām excited to be a tank main if my support queues are unplayable I guess.

My hope is that they wonāt deliberately figure out some dogpile system or overnerf the tanks below OW1 levels based on some complete bs take or find another way to change things up just so that 6v6 wonāt be as popular as it should be and they arenāt pressured to make it the format of the game again so they can keep catering their software and hardware limitations for an irrelevantly small console playerbase on worst consoles; which is killing the game.

First of, they will look into the technical details for around 6-8 months, so the test is a year away.
Secondly, I dont think the test will include any reworks at all and rather just broad changes per role or cooldown increases. Something you can do fast and easy. Its a test and nothing more.
Lastly, the 6v6 test will be interesting, but I dont see anything positive from this kind of test. 6v6 people will tell Blizzard, that it cant work without crazy changes and that the test is not important, while the 5v5 people will say āSee, it does not work!ā. They cant win with that one, but at least get some data.
I think everyone sets them up for disappointment, because the devs already said that the old 6v6 did not work and that if they test a new 6v6 format, that it would be different.

If itās anything other than 2-2-2, then Blizzard has officially lost it.
The entire problem is Tanks are solo and are ātankyā in none of the ways that matter. Having 6 gajillion health isnāt going to stop a stupid Grandma from drugging you.
Having 1 Tank in a 6V6 environment is only going to add EVEN MORE STUFF TO BULLY THE TANK WITH!

6v6 I understand, but do we expect it to be the standard āqueue for a roleā system we have now where we donāt have enough people queueing tank and weāre just hoping 6v6 makes people want to queue for tank?
That question to me is kinda fundamental in discussing 6v6
6V6 OQ is a nothing change, itās guaranteed to work since you can still play whatever you want, thereās just more now.
RQ is what actually needs to be tested because the problem is having a solo Tank, so we need to guarantee that we can test the game with 2 Tanks.
Yea I think after a week or two, queue times will increase for dps/support because people have tried tank and found it to be just as lame as it was before 5v5. Iām happy to be proven wrong, I donāt care a ton either way.

If all it was was a vocal minority, 6v6 could be an arcade mode no problem.
I hope at the VERY least they just add it as a side mode next to OQ and Mystery Heroes.
They can still balance around 5V5 if they absolutely must, but as long as they give everyone some kind of personalised nerfs, Iāll be fine.

Im with Enigma. Im hoping 6v6 becomes part of the QP line-up. I have high-hopes that the mode returns to the game permantently.

Almost everything will get nerfed.
They will probably remove the Health Regen passive. Thatās an Overwatch 2 thing, and to be honest, Iām kind of used to it and donāt want it removed.
Iām also not sure how they will solve the issue of stacking tank barriers. Shooting barriers again and again is just not fun.
I hope they can make 6v6 work, although Iām skeptical.
I still believe that 5v5 is not a problem as a format; they just failed to design it properly.
Mauga should be allowed to ignite shields. Plus it wasnāt just shields, it was also Fortify and Kinetic Grasp being stupid. If someone picks both Orisa and Sigma on the same team, they should be banned for being a little coward baby.
Or you can just go Reinhardt Ramattra Lucio and run them over as their pathetic shields simply cannot block that much raw aura those two titans exude.
Throw a Juno in there too
Double Shield wonāt be a problem, nor rotating cheese defensive cooldowns. Weāll have so many options to deal with it.

That the tank bottleneck is much less of a problem than it was in OW1. Thatās the only issue holding it back, I think.
Time will tell.
My hope is people will finally stop spamming this forum with 6v6 threads.

It will just become 5v5 people critiquing every issue with 6v6 and more arguing for eternity (assuming 6v6 replaces 5v5 somehow)
Long term? They actually implement a permanent 6v6 mode
In terms of hopes for testing, firstly, Iād hope they actually put in a genuine, good-effort to test it. Iāll admit my confidence here is not high, because I have very little trust in Blizzard after years of nonsense and talking out of both sides of their mouths on issues, but a real, good, fair effort to make a trial work would help rebuild a little trust.
Secondly, theyāve promised to look at different ways to approach the role system. Whatever options they pursue here, Iād also like to see them trial for 6v6. Meaning, if they do a one-and-done 6v6 trial, thatās not really going to satisfy me. I actually would come back to trial 6v6 modes, especially if there are multiple.
Finally, and this is more of general hope that maybe the 6v6 trial(s) will motivate, Iād like to see exceptional transparency in data sharing for balance & format changes. Their reasoning for many changes has long been clear as mud, and the data they do share is often just a snapshot or cherry picked, so itās hard to have faith in their decision making. Iād like to see that change, and while they could do that at any time, the transparency needed for a fair 6v6 trial I hope will push for it to be more of a reality.
My hope is that the offtank role actually exists again
