I didnt get a warning on a two week suspension. Im hoping Blizzard will pull my chat logs (not in voice chat, dont curse at all, and dont even call anyone bad or anything of the sort).
The report system is 100% automated and abused like crazy.
In fact thereâs talks about how the best course of action to get someone actioned is reporting for chat/voice as they will just keyword search your entire chat history and find something, because itâs pretty simple to curse (even the word that means âcrapâ and starts with s is actionable).
But thereâs no suspension without warning I believe. But if you already had a warning (even if years ago) you will not see warnings but straight suspension yes.
Again, a player choosing to engage in a action that is purposefully disrespectful vs. a player taking offense to something that isnt intended to be disrespectful. They are not the same thing.
If youâre taking offense when it wasnât intentional, you are the problem.
I have a number of accounts. I keep chat at G-PG tops. No s word not even a D word. Its cleaner than a Disney movie.
Blizzard upheld one of my chat suspensions for saying âplease dps stop being badâ on another account. Like ok you can say its not productive speech and stand with blizzard anyway you know how, but like cmon⌠you use guns to kill people in the game and you cant even say âplease dont be badâ
Thereâs just massive logically inconsistencies in this game.
When you intentionally swap to zarya, to farm me as DVA, youâve intentionally detracted from my game enjoyment and should be reported for such behavior. I perceive it to be disrespectful.
Everyone says smurfing isnt against TOS⌠well not according to TOS. Youre intentionally playing widow in a low ranked match and disrespecting lower ranked players by not letting them play the game outside of spawn. Seems like i could articulate a violation.

Boosting is a valid report category. If you suspect someone of smurfing and theyâre in a group, report everyone in the group for boosting.

im not talking about boosting, talking about unranked to GM. Even though Blizzard put that account in the current rank it sits at and the player is doing everything possibly to rank up to the rank they belong at. They behavior is unacceptable and should be reported 100% of the time.

Sometimes i have a game as dps where my tank gives me infinity space and im able to literally kill everyone all the time. I look like a smurf because i have 0 pressure on me and make shots⌠this is a major problem. Thanks for admitting you abuse the report system though.
OP, we canât tell you what youâre getting warnings for. Weâre not psychic and we donât work in CS.

Youâre reinforcing what I said though. Iâm saying that people report for abusive chat as theyâll take ANYTHING as a proof. Itâs impossible anyone passes the scrutiny of what they consider actionable when it comes to chat. But this isnât automatism, this is an agent saying: âyes, this warrants you not having access to the gameâ.
Itâs mind boggling.
Itâs probably when you play Ball and have a bad game so you end up doing nothing on the hero and donât even switch when you start getting those reports. Remember that only one (1) report per game is as valuable as ten (10) reports would be and thereâs no difference between these. So only one player has to be malding enough to report you for doing that stuff for you to eventually get the stick

My main point is there is no objective metric to constitute a clear chat violation and there should be.
My own personal opinion is chat violations should only incur when someone uses a clear racial slur or one of those words⌠âfoxtrot alpha golfâŚâ Any other form of chat can be muted by the player⌠the speaker can be avoided as teammate⌠there are already solutions if you cant take verbal conflict.

Iâm unbannable since I have voice/text chat entirely unbound. Every time I open this game I get âthanks for reporting!â though. Itâs my revenge after several false bans. This community can eat dust.

I agree, they should be substantial terms and especially something that you repeat often. Like if you see a player constantly calls everybody bad, that would be a whiner that does indeed need to be silenced. But just that, silenced.
Not communicating is also reportableâŚ

Also if players report silenced accounts or ones with all chat turned off, there should be actions against those players for abusing the report system.
