It always looked like a mixture of Reapers mask and some kind of shuttle to me. But what is it supposed to represent?
Edit: Stupid me. English isn’t my native language, so bear with me. What I actually meant was as to what the logo is supposed to actually look like. I made my example of Reapers mask and a shuttle. Does anyone else see the shuttle? I mean, why a shuttle? The mask would make sense, even tho it feels a bit selfish from reaper, but why the shuttle tho? what is the meaning of that…
Blackwatch.
It represents Blackwatch.

Since Blackwatch is the covert ops division of Overwatch, and Reyes was the commander, the “shuttle” or mask is referencing Reyes. But the sword in it is showing that they are hiding a weapon on board their shuttle, or in other cases, they are hiding themselves from the public. Which actually makes sense because Blackwatch was a secret before the Venice Incident.
And the ring around it is a part of the Overwatch logo.

Huh! that’s interesting. Is that just a theory of yours, or is this being told in the comics or something? mostly talking about the sword part as being a secret weapon here.
It’s both a theory and a fact. The sword part is true, the reference to Reaper is a theory. But they never say anything about the logo in the comics, so it’s a mystery.
It’s kinda strange they even have a logo. Being an off the book team but have marking that can trace them back.
As for the design, being in futuristic setting, I think it kinda mix between skull and dropship. Sword to show themselves as attacker. Contrary to overwatch who are seen as protector. Reaper mask were probably design to reference blackwatch emblem instead. Maybe to show legacy of blackwatch.
