I don’t want her to be a must pick, give her mass Rez but take away invinciblity and rezzing through walls, I just want s fun hero. How would you feel if you had a majority of your hours on Genji but “oh he’s too strong now let’s rework him to an unfun but balanced hero”

Not ignoring Mercy, or more specifically the community talking about Mercy, is what made her rework such a debacle.
If the devs didn’t listen to community cry over how they though every post-rework nerf would send her into Bastion levels of play, it wouldn’t have taken a year of her being blatantly overpowered to get her in a somewhat reasonable spot.
Now that she isn’t actively ruining the game at every level, they can wait, gather better data, and make smaller precise adjustments to get her in a state is both effective and hopefully more fun.
Looking at the speed of changes they will change Mercy again in like 2 or 3 years.

They said in dev update that they think the changes to support has been “extremely successful”… around 6:40-6:50.
So no new lore. No intent to make existing lore available as a purchasable expac. No intent to have new content for annual events. And Mercy continues to asphyxiate compared to other healers who actually have time and abilities that let them assist on kills while getting big heals.

Mercy mains: “like doomfist? Soldier? Tracer? Very skilful dps indeed very very hard to get kills with them. So hard my poor mercy main fingers couldn’t move my mouse fast enough to one shot , aimbot or blink 12 times and snapping my wrists to turns 180 to one clip som poor zen with about 20 ammo. Yes I’m the one who needs to ‘get gud’”

As a Mercy player, and as someone who desperately wants Mercy to be in a good and viable position again, this is one of the best outcomes we could have expected. If they had put any Mercy changes on the PTR, they would have been small changes that wouldn’t have addressed the current problem.
The devs know that Mercy is in a bad spot. They’re not blind, they can see the stats, they can see the forums. The stats point out the problem clear as day. They just don’t know how to fix her right yet, and are probably scared of the outcry if they do. They need time and distance to figure it out.
We’ll know we’re getting somewhere when they start mentioning her by name. It will start with - “we think Mercy is in a balanced spot right now, and we don’t think she needs any major changes”. The next phase is “We’re concerned about Mercy’s viability, and are looking into her”. And then finally we’ll get “Hi, this is Jeff from the Overwatch team bringing you some exciting new Mercy changes that we think you’re really going to love.”

The support changes were good, I won’t deny that. However they basically destroyed Mercy to make the other supports all viable. I would hardly say that’s a success.

If they didn’t know how to fix her from OP to balanced over a year, and instead dipped straight into UP, I’d say we’re royally screwed lol

We’ve just had a horrible 1 year mercy meta and people want her buffed? Jesus Christ… And please don’t say “balanced not buffed!!1!” Because almost all the mercy spam is just buff her to the sky suggestions. No doubt why the devs don’t wanna hear mercy mains.
Before the rework she wasn’t a must pick. She was way more balanced and healthy for the game than the current version we have currently.

What if they said the same thing again? I can see them quite easily doing so.
Your assumption that you think that any Mercy player (or flex player who played Mercy regularly) think that Torb is going to be better after the changes is hilarious.
My only faith is that the people who now play him because he’s disability friendly (and Torb made this game more accessible for them) will no longer be able to play him the way they did before and they will now be forced to aim/click more than their disabilities allow.
After all, that’s what happened to Symmetra.
