What a "warm" welcome back

Guess we’ll have to see how that goes.

So if it never gets better I suppose you’ll just blame the game’s frustration for eternity, and never the actual players.

It is crazy how people try to strip the personal responsibility of the players away and blame the game. The lack of accountability is somewhat frightening.

I’m saying I have high expectations for Season 9, probably on February 13th.

A change in the game won’t change people’s personalities.

I figure, good traffic prevents roadrage.

No one will come looking good out of the civil war if you go after fps community with rts theory

Yeah because all the people that spam “EZ” on match end, call anyone that dislikes toxicity a “sensitive whiny little crybaby”, spam flag people they dislike ingame, and purposely sabotage their own team’s match will suddenly become good, upstanding, friendly players because comp, and comp alone, has slightly better matchmaking.

The reason for this is games are designed and balanced to cater to that gamer, no one thought ok why can’t zen ana fight tracer genji how do I enable them to even the playfield while keeping skill balance equal, nope they make brig cause they don’t want to cater to that zen OTP who wants to improve they want to cater to that rage quitting gamer here you go bud just press H and spank genji’s cyborg butt.

Then you don’t even stick by that rage quitting gamer now thwackinh genji, now you want to cater to that genji main swearing at you in dragon language, you do gymnastics to nerf brig both are now wailing.

That is this game everyone Angy

Except tracer hanzo and dva mains

No bias at all, I am sure. You just highly respect individuals who main those heroes. It has nothing to do with your personal preferences or anything. :joy:

Well, the sources I’m using break down things that to a “What is a Game” level. So it applies to literally every type of game.

But it’s not like you got a own sources, or planned on reading any source I posted.

I’m certainly not biased :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

See if there was such magic sauce aaa industries won’t make such bad games.

Every game is a individual life especially unique ones like overwatch as much as you may think it’s just another hero shooter.

If you don’t understand the soul and life of the game and it’s players you won’t be able to good by it with bad outdated theory books

They are atmost a starting for new Dev’s not for a complex beast like overwatch.

If you cannot understand this game for what it is you can’t make proper changes to it

Do you think alec or Aaron haven’t watched or read the stuff you quote ten times over.

A miserable little pile of toxicity.

Well, I’ve certainly “guessed” a large fraction of the changes that got into the game.

So you’d think I’m pretty good at understanding not just the status quo, but also where things are headed.

The wrong direction?

Well, let’s see how much Season 9 lines up with this:

  1. Nerf AntiNade
  2. Nerf Burst Damage
  3. Nerf Burst Healing
  4. Give Tanks and DPS a modified self-heal passive
  5. Along with a bunch of other changes to equalize excess Sustain, such as replacing Immo’s with Healthgates.

Fixing how it feels against "Problem Heroes"

Do not get me wrong, as usual… I certainly hope that the game gets better. It would be nice if they addressed concerns in a meaningful way that improved the experience. I just do not trust them at all. It’s that simple. I do not believe they have the best interest of the game in their hearts and I do not believe they even understand their own design goals. It is quite clear that they make changes for the sake of change and this is just a job. They just clock in and pretend they are working on balancing the game by reverting a revert.

Yeah, actually.

They have been kinda in crunch mode for the last 2 years.

So idealism and industry best practices often fall by the wayside.

A lot of stuff that looks like obvious in hindsight, probably wasn’t on their mind before.

Especially since I’m sure Card Game balance, is different from Shooter Game balance. And Alec was previously the Hearthstone balance guy.

And that generally, Overwatch is Blizzard’s first FPS, and it’s a pretty unique hybrid of ideas.

Explains why he’s leaning so hard on winrate based balancing. Despite Overwatch not using unmodified winrate.
