What’s the win-lose ratio to ensure rank up?

I’ve been keeping notes on the side while playing comp, 5W-3L or 5W-2L runs seem to keep me in the same tier
But once I got 5W I immediately jumped 2 tiers

What’s the point in making the 5W and 15L progress ratio if it’s this hard can someone explain?

I noticed that at 5-4 or worse you go down a division (at least for me) and I really only climb when I go 5-0, 5-1 or 5-2, which is really strict considering you were still climbing with 5-4 in OW1 but now you just don’t see it since the actual sr is hidden

About 5-4 being the derank threshold seems real

5-1 double uprank; 5-7 one uprank; 5-0 stay; 5-3 derank
I think there isn’t a formular it all depends how you perform

I think its rng if you rank up or down, regardless of your record

Does not matter, I had one of my worst losing streak early this season about 5w/14L or something, I did not drop a single rank…

And later 5w/3~4L, 2 ranks up, goes on and on till go back to Diamond, where I ended last season.

TL,dr for u, don’t play rank right now…

100% winrate ensures rank up, im 100% sure of that

Dafran stayed the same after a 9 losses streak.

I don’t think it is entirely up to wins and losses. I have lost 5 and won 5 gone up. It very much has to do with your performance and not just wins or losses.

The underlying system is somewhat complex. I think the most important thing to understand is that how much you rank up/down depends upon how difficult the matches you won/lost were. So:

If a player who is currently ranked Bronze wins a match against a bunch of GM players they will rank up more than a GM player who won that some match would. They would also rank down less (not at all, in this case) than a GM player who lost that match would have.

For this reason, there is no particular number of wins or losses that will always result in a rank up or down.

The above explanation is an oversimplification but hopefully it will suffice.

I do like 5-5 and stay same rank
Do 5-1 and that happen too

for me it’s been 5-5 is the most losses you can have
most/biggest rank ups have 5-2 ratio
my avg winrate is 63% so 5-3

imo if you try to stay above or at 50% WR you should climb glhf!!!

funnily enough last 2 seasons a 44% WR was enough to climb

It’s not about wins/losses so much as it is about where your MMR is in relation to your visible rank. I’ve went negative and ranked up multiple times because mmr was well above rank. If it’s relatively stabilized though. If it’s relatively stabilized though I think you will almost always rank up or down at ±4 (5-1 or 5-9), but still sometimes not. ±3 is also likely to be rank up/down.

55% with good stats.
