I just got perma banned yesterday. Dont really care as I never spent one dollar on this game. Dony buy skins or anything. It just seems that with the near death of this game that Blizz might as well make it like some far left college campus where only 20% of the people really think the same. I guess it’s their right
It was disabled in December when they got scared of the marvel game but now it’s back for 2025, people are getting mass banned again for typing any insignificant thing in chat, good ol blizzard

Blizzard recently did a cheater ban wave and they also processed a lot of suspensions for chat reports.
Out of thousands, 15 threads isn’t a bad sign overall after a wave.
Do note - you cant be sure the users saying they got banned for cheating werent cheating.
On a side note - I got suspended for chat abuse, for arguing with my team on play plans.
Reasons included: Abuse, trash talk, advertisement, spamming
Neither of them were correct, raised a ticket and got it reverted.
They are probably processing chat abuse reports as well.
A day after buying the battle pass in November, I got banned for a whole month for calling someone ‘trash’. It was my third ban in the past year.
I lost 7 or 8 games in a row and my last three games consisted of 1 or 2 throwers, so I just got pissed off. I didn’t even start insulting, I only reacted to someone calling me out in the voicechat and this resulted in a ban.
It hurts to see my favorite game in this state, with over 4.500 hours spent on it… I also moved to Rivals and honestly, I enjoy it a lot more because people actually communicate in Comp. In OW2, everyone has become quiet because literally one bad word can get you banned. This zero tolerance policy of ‘good behaviour’ is out of control and it causes people to leave the game.

How about you tell us the reason as well.
maybe expand on that proposition.
If anyone is chat abusing, just mute their chats by the system. but let them play. They cant talk or chat with anyone at all.
If anyone is cheating, ban the account.
A very high amt of middle east userbase is pure insufferable, to the point i’ll pay to never be put on that server.
I hardly see toxic stuff in Singapore region. (hardly as in, 1 game out of 30)
Tho tbh, most people cant tell cheats apart.
but I did report 2 this weekend and got a thank you for it right after. which I was sure is rage hack, not even attempting to hide.
They do need some work on their anti-cheat methods.

Maybe just maybe this is the end of the cheater brigade that has infiltrated and destroyed any competitive integrity this game has.
If blizz is finally doing this, it’s AMAZING and truly good news. The less cheaters this game has the more regular people will play.
Don’t put your guard down. I got permanent banned a week ago ago for ”cheating”, and when they checked it, it was false and I got unbanned.
No matter how good you behave, false bans happens, in OW2 and on other platforms.

Thank God I didn’t spend a penny besides Overwatch 1 — but I regret the time I wasted - the win/lose cicle is insane. I got a one-month suspension, but after interacting with this forum, I’m starting to believe this could be a good thing. A chance to walk away and never look back. I’ve already deleted the game.

You shouldn’t have called them trash - but I’ve said worse. It all depends on how many people report you I’m guessing.
I also wonder if game mode comes into consideration - I don’t play comp and my account has been fine for years despite dropping salty comments like “solo queue when” and “222 when” after I lose sometimes.

Yeah, getting banned for toxicity yet haven’t cussed even once, Blizzard prob don’t even check reports, just as long as you get spam reported ur banned, stupidest thing ever, this is why everyone moved on to rivals, cause at least you can express yourself after spending a ton of money and being loyal even after being lied to about pve and a better game.

What’s to expand on? It’s not my proposition, clearly. It’s a very silly one to make people who spend real money exempt from account action on that basis alone.
Why were you concerned?
Probably just you posting from different new accounts to make it look like there are a lot of unfair bans so honest players and the OW team pit against each other.

I 100% don’t believe you or your story. Your main forum account must be having thousand of posts and you probably got yourself banned from Overwatch a lot of time.

Beware of the liars, forumers. There are no unfair ban waves and probably no ban waves at all… Only cheaters or toxic players being disruptive for the umpteenth time and not learning anything from their poor behavior in game.

Would it make you feel better if I told you my account has been fine for more than 5 years? No. Because I could get banned tomorrow for saying enough dumb things. The trick, is not to do that.

It would literally take more that a forum raid so everyone gets the memo and do that, so an “innocent” gets banned…
People don’t realize that in order to get suspended or banned, you must get a lot of reports against you in a very close time window, hence why people that get suspended more likely deserved it.
I don’t believe in the narrative of someone getting unfairly reported every single match they play. I’ve been playing OW in Competitive for years (and OW in general since 2016) and this never happened… even when I talked back to toxic players…
Your narrative is simply made up and just isn’t a thing / reality.
It’s not just the bans it’s the fact that they aren’t disclosing reason for bans.
Tell that to the people who I have had reports come back that their account has been actioned against
