I’ll see people say stuff like dps diff , or hog diff. And I have a feeling it’s negative like you’re not good. I’ve seen it and I have been categorized as the “dps diff” once or twice. Meaning? I’m still a noob I started playing Ow when it makes dead. lol. Thanks!!

That the difference in the outcome of the game was due to whoever the diff was. Like if your team says DPS diff, it means that the other team’s DPS were way better

It means they’re an angry individual who is blaming their teammates for losing.
Alternatively, if the individual is saying it about themselves after winning, it means they believe they single handedly won their team the game.

Someone is either complaining about their teammates or instead gloating. Depending on if they say it about themselves or another.
So if your Symmetra players says “healer diff” it means she’s saying the enemy team won because their healers are better than her own team.
If your Symmetra says “Symm diff” after a victory, she’s claiming that she’s the primary reason your team won.
Either is pretty eye roll worthy

It’s just the latest insult/bragging trend. Kind of like ggez.
It can lead to funny interactions. Had a game we won where one of our dps typed “healer diff” at the end of the game. Enemy team bristled, until PotG featuring our Lucio and cards showing only our supports.
Enemy support replied, “Yep, we got outplayed”. Lots of lol in chat after that.

He, had a Nepal QP today where the tanks (me one of them) and dps asked the “healer diff?” question. After the defeat I rewatched it. Lucio and Moira just frontlined. With their faces. A lot.

Basically saying that you lost/won because of the character mentioned being played better/worse on both teams.

It means that whoever they indicated was a DIFFicult foe to face and they had a good round.
Mostly it’s a toxic way to say “our mercy is better than your mercy” or “your rein is better than ours”
