We had 200hp before, and she was blown up when pressured. She was a throw pick, and objectively the worst support in the game. I can’t believe we’ve gone back. How many times do we need to say it?

Why should peeling be limited to tanks? The reason we got Brig in the first place is because Supports were free kills for flankers. Brig was a healthy addition to the game, albeit her kit being a bit too bloated.

Because it’s the only effective way to prevent DoubleBarrier from being dominant.
To make it so that if you don’t have a Tank that’s a notAnchorTank, then the composition is starved for a lack of Peel.
Brig prevents that “Starved for Peel” effect.

Brig isn’t a core component of Double Barrier though. Bear in mind the original line up was Moira/Lucio or Moira/Ana, with then being replaced by Bap/Zen and later Bap/Brig.
If double barrier returns, it’ll be without Brig. Probably Zen again.

Her stun and boop wouldn’t feel so powerful if she didn’t also have repair pack, that’s the whole point. She’s got too many cooks in the kitchen; why does a close range melee healer have a no-aim long distance heal ability? It makes literally no sense, and it’s WHY she is so OP in higher ranks.
If they changed this one thing, the other elements of her kit would be appropriately tuned to what she’s meant to be. Sure she’d have stuns and boops; so do other characters, including healers, like Lucio. It’s just that she’s able to do too many things at once that makes her a problem.

Especially now that her barrier is so weak she can’t even defend herself from a single Tracer clip with it! You really want to say that her shield is ‘part of double barrier’ when it’s the size of a postage stamp and as strong as tissue paper? LOL

Having a NotTank hero that provides AntiDive Peel though is.
Mei filled that function.
And then devs dumped 8+ nerfs on her.
Then DoubleBarrier moved to using Brig.

What about when we had baps/zen db?
There was an interview with british hurricane and they said baps/zen could be optimal over baps/brig. They said owl league was trying scrims with baps/zen. It’s possible they’re just using mei/mccree for peel.

My thought process is that’s propped up by the threat of “My team could switch to Brig at any moment, and invalidate the entire Dive team’s Ult economy”.
Take Brig out of the picture, and Lamp isn’t really all that great at holding off a full Dive consistently.
Just play Zenyatta every game. You will force people to learn to peel for the team since the role is apparently not allowed that option.

Indeed, but I don’t think 25 hp is much of a breakpoint on a character that has 250 more in her pocket
Brig is the only support that can peel and fight off flankers that are attacking her and other support, so you want to remove all the things that gives her and her support teammate fighting chance against flankers

It would appear that it’s enough to move her from “meta” to “niche”.
Since meta’s are all about the relative strength compared to the next best alternative.
I dunno man, I could definitely tell the difference the second I starting playing 225 Brig on that Experimental. Sometimes small changes can have big consequences. If you’d asked me whether +5 HPS for Mercy was a big deal before her buff I’d have been non-committal, but I felt like it made a world of difference.

Which is why I say both sides if the arguement are overreacting
People always overreact to Brig
I can believe it for Brig, but I’ve never personally felt the Mercy buff
There are plenty of selfpeel options in the Support role. And if you’re not in an ELO where Dive is strong, a Moira/Winston/Torb would be overkill to shut down flankers.
