Last two people on point at the very end on OT were rein and I, rein was low and I was moving point in a 2v2 with our mercy healing from afar after I’d cleared the point with mines. Getting a 3k
I spin around to try and get lucio off the map and dva off point, they both manage to stay in the fight but I don’t realize the timer ran out for the hook. And I unlatch from the point, which sends me flying away from point with the momentum from the spin and I get booped by lucio at the same time, and my rein, who is 1 HP can’t touch.
Not a lot I could have done with no idea how long my grapple had and also… forgetting the nerf existing in general. Thanks blizz…
I was pushing the enemy away to create space so the cart was moving?? That’s trying to win, not a desperation move. I got kills right before that and I almost killed the Lucio with the boop. I didn’t need my team to come back it was so winnable
and you took more then 6 seconds to attempt it. This is what they wanted to change. They wanted ball to not have infinite mobility while playing on the point. So they limited it to six seconds.
The fact that it impacted your game while contesting point is an intended consequence of that change. Not hard.
What other timed abilities don’t have a timer to let the player know how long they have? D.Va has for matrix. Orisa for fortify. Does Sigma have for grasp? I’m ok with the nerf but it was done in such a lazy way. They clearly didn’t test it.
If you look I was circling around the cart beforehand to boop tracer and genji into the mines because everyone was huddled near point to avoid them, and it worked. I was just using the same spin to then clear the remaining two.
My point is that the line between Hammond doing his goshdarn job is too blurred with low elo desperation strats. And not even a UI indicator? This change is trash
Now you and I both know there is a distinct difference between ball with a large health pool and two lower health characters that are not even close to the same speed. They are cleared off point much easier then that of ball.
The point of the change was to reduce the effectiveness of WB’s stall as he had a level of stall that was higher than these two.
The goal was not to end stall entirely but to reduce the stall potential of ball who was a heavy outlier in regards to stall potential.
