Press X to doubt. Smurfs in low levels aren’t common because of how easy it is to place in Diamond or higher.

They probably said that because they are a high elo player who smurfs in low ranks and doesn’t want to end up banned because they are the problem. Literally what every hard cap is.

While I understand that smurfing is incredibly frustrating I don’t really see how them appearing in your games is any different to quickplay where high ranks deliberately get thrown in with metal ranks?

In fact to me there is no diff. I simply stop playin against them and wait the end of the match.
In comp? Seems like a good way to speed run a ban

in comp I simply get that whatever I do is lost anyway so the aggravating is that I waste time trying.

Trying to play comp as well but i’m unable. My team-mates feels like on rank that is silver while the other team seems like i’m playing against high-skilled players.
Playing this feels like i’m playing souls-like. They are so many unbeatable bosses.

Smurf accounts are scum and should be banned. Alt accounts are perfectly fine.
As long as you can make infinite accounts, alts are the same as smurfs. Yeah yeah, they don’t throw games. But they are having easy wins on their way to their original rank. Right now the game is checking how good you did in your qp games before you jumped into the comp. If you did extremely well (like 80+% winrate) then you have strong boost to your MMR. I think it’s the best Blizzard can do outside of outright banning multiple accounts which would require harsh identification to ensure that you only have one.
It’s pretty good system because you need to spend a lot of time grinding new account to jump into the comp only to get boosted to GM in couple games. Awkward did Reaper U2GM where he literally got there in 5 games lol. I think most smurf alts are accounts from OW1 that didn’t get play much

That just isn’t even remotely true.
Because he is a GM player. Proving that ult accounts are fine.
Smurfing requires manipulation (deranking, or buying low elo accounts) both come under cheating and can quickly get you banned. Smurfing is hard to do now, it isn’t worth the effort. Hence fairly rare.
If GM plays in diamond game he will destroy it. Doesn’t matter if it’s on alt account or smurf account. They don’t throw games so they can’t be banned for that. But it’s still pretty shady because you are obviously higher elo player in the rank you shouldn’t be just because you created a new account. If you were playing on your main, you wouldn’t play in plat or diamond. Game wouldn’t allow it.
