Jeff the new forums are horrible. The new forums desperately require the following:

1. Page breaks please, I don’t want to scroll through an endless stream of posts to get to the latest one. Please bring back pages for threads.

2. Bring back Down votes - down voting allowed the community to self police trash-posters, trolls, and people spreading deliberate misinformation about heroes to support unneeded nerf threads. Down votes allowed me to scroll over questionable posts (a feature desperately needed in the new forum where posts are all in one long line instead of on different pages) and in no way censored posters since you always had the freedom to click the link either to read what the poster said or out of morbid curiosity. Frankly if dissenting opinions must now voice why they dissent the like button should be removed so posters who agree must articulate exactly why they agree instead of mindlessly hitting the “like” button since two posters can agree with a post for vastly differing reasons - reasons we’ll never know if they just hit “like” and move on. Please reinstate the down vote button or remove the like button from the new forums.

3. The ability to hide our account hero stats, playtime, etc. So many people resort to “you are only Gold, Silver, etc” to end a debate instead of actually arguing the point that the one feature that would have actually fostered debate (hiding account player stats) has been left out.

We’re really hoping that with the addition of new functionality such as the ability to link pictures and video the forums can become a place to celebrate the game and each other.

So I’ve been researching this trust system, and it appears at level 3 users get some serious flagging moderation abilities, such as the ability to auto silence a level 0 account.

I also see that you are unable to edit the powers obtained with each trust level, only their parameters.

Could you put our minds at ease and let us know that users will not gain such powers?

I know that this post is premature as we have absolutely zero information about how these trust levels are going to be implemented on the Blizzard forums, but I’ve been browsing the Discourse literature about how Trust levels are gained.

I found something in there that I find very worrisome.

I’m not too fan of this new forums. At least from what I could find, we can’t see people profiles anymore to show us what they play and stats to give advice on things like that. There is no longer profile pictures that add at least some color to the forums. All we are left with is dull grey and some blue colors for the forums and doesn’t make it look that appealing to me. Also the usernames for the posts are WAY smaller then previous ones. I like the fact downvoting is gone and all comments are on one page.

I have Ghostery to prevent tracking and i have no idea what your second sentence says exactly. . .

I have a suggestion for the “Latest”“New” and “top” tabs,
a setting to manage what catagories show up in the tabs,
currently you can view posts within the a catagory section as
"Latest"“New” and “top” with the relevent posts.

But if you were able to focus on posts that intrest you in the catagories setion of the forums, say you dont want to see any new posts from PTR you can adjust a setting to not focus on that catagory for any “Latest”“New” and “top” topics/posts.

For example you could have a check box list in a drop box for each tab.
