Great to see the progression system being updated!

Any info on the next Overwatch Classic would be great!

This all sounds nice, but the specific rewards implemented (and how they’re distributed across levels) is a key detail, so we’ll see.

I still firmly believe instead of only having a tiny handful of weapon recolors grindable (and annoyingly locked to Comp), player progression systems should have earnable weapon recolors/skins. Call of Duty has been doing this for ages.

If all we’re getting is a handful of loot boxes and old/low-tier cosmetics, then this 2.0 will only represent a modest improvement where a dramatic improvement was needed. My time investment needs to feel like it matters, and just flashing some numbers at other players in my games doesn’t do that for me (it’s nifty, but that’s all).

I am confused, do you actually have to use streamer mode if you want to hide your highest progression level? I do not want to be told to go Reinhardt if we are losing just because he is, by far, my highest level. I hate playing Reinhardt in 2 max.

Okay, now remove hero bans so I can play my favorite (and most played) hero.

Think of all the people that got their career profile cleared
Fortunately I only lost a few hundred hours myself, so there should be some loot for me :pray:t3:

Those bugs just effect playtime, not hero progression. It’s an entirely new system they added about a year into Overwatch Dos.

It would be neat for flex players to have some kind of badge to brag with. I play everything, so none of my heroes are especially high ranked, but all of them are still probably collectively higher ranked than most people.

Also, I want more incentives in general for people to flex. Players being unable or unwilling to use multiple tools at the right time causes more issues in this game than anything.

“Previously, rewards earned through Hero progression were mixed into the cosmetic section they belonged to; most players only used those rewards if they could find them. The brand-new Progression 2.0 Hero screen is a multi-functional page with 3D models, progression tracking, and an easy-to-navigate rewards list.”

Ah? I have 0 idea what this means, is/was there already a system like that?

Go to challenges → heroes. Mostly profile pics.

You could technically find the rewards and cross reference the level you earned them, but they were scattered and difficult to navigate overall. This just shows the tree and exact branch that you unlock every specific item.

Ah, they meant those? yeah I know that tab, it was profile pics, titles, and maybe name cards? Weird they said “cosmetics” when in reality most people wouldnt even consider those real cosmetics.

I checked and I have over 386 hours in the game since progression came out and my highest hero level is 23, so that’s not even enough to qualify for a single legendary lootbox. Yeah seems like a garbage system still though I guess not as totally worthless as before. Just give us overall level like in OW1 that system was perfect idk why they made it so much more convoluted and worse

That’s just because you don’t have a main. I will be getting hella boxes even though I wasted some levels on Reinhardt that COULD have been used to get two extra epics and another legendary box if I knew this was coming…

Albeit, I have been testing how long it takes to level past 20 once the experience cap increases to 60k and the results have me a bit less excited. Not going to lie.

Is all the time I spent in OW1 still being ignored? Yes.

OK. Don’t care then.

Pretty sure yes you have to use streamer mode. But I think it gives options to hide or not hide whatever you want. So you could hide just your top 3 heroes and that’s it. Name, icon, etc still visible.

Oh, that’s pretty dope. It’s not even that I genuinely would want to hide them under normal circumstances, but it already happened sometimes where they would check my profile and say, “Genji go Doomfist.” Not going to lie, it actually worked a lot because even though they were blaming me, the real problem was that we had a beta tank player… In my humble opinion. :face_with_monocle:

Still, I am not here to win. I just want to play Useless Goddess.

Sounds like you now have a reason to play heroes more if you want. I have a fairly rainbow profile, tho I have played a lot more than 400 hours in ow2. And I will be getting 34 epic boxes, and 23 legendary.

Yeah, OW1 time played for was ignored. Vets had to start over. It’s great that progression is getting revamped but leveling is a pain.

My most played is Ana but Kiriko is my highest level at 40. Ana is close to 200 hours but around lvl 30.

The actual exp required is crazy. You don’t even get a bonus if you level all stats at once.
