Weekly Performance Update

So I just got this email about weekly performance updates. Issue is that the username in the performance update is not me and the stats shown are not mine. I checked and my girlfriend got the same email, but with an entirely different username provided with different stats. Are these mock-ups, or were there some crossed wires somewhere along the line?

Edit: Now the email has my correct username with the “failed experiment” message that others are reporting below.

Same here. Different battle tag on mine too. It said to play more for more deta but i played (pretty much) the entire time the event was live.

They couldn’t even find anything on me. Said I needed to play a few games per week. Bro. I play OW daily lol.

The ones i got for beta seemed pretty on point and the name was correct
i also got one saying i didn’t play enough for it to compile even a smaller dataset, which also tracks since ive been playing mostly d3 and Skyrim this week and maybe played 2 games

My husband got one with a different user name, and I got one saying I didn’t play at all … is this for 1 or 2? Because 2 would make sense, but 1 does not, since my husband and I played last week during the event.

I just received this as well. My gamertag was correct, but it said that I hadn’t played enough to build a dataset to analyze. It confused me because I played quite frequently during the beta. If this is for OW1: it confuses me even more because I play almost every night! Mind you: I mostly play QP and not competitive. But, based on the other responses here, I don’t think that is the issue since I’m assuming those who’ve already responded play Comp?

I haven’t received the email at all.

Maybe they realised their mistake and stopped sending them.

I thought it was a phishing scam at first. So weird.

I got the email and it says there wasn’t enough data and “you only need to play a few games a week”. I probably play close to 30 hours a week…

There is going to be several emails about that to many probably

Mine only has my IGN on the email subject. Everything else says that I need to play more to provide more data… e.e So far Total Mayhem (the mode i mostly play) has been every 3 days when it used to be every other day the only other modes i play are the ones on the game browser

Same problem, but I kept refreshing it and eventually it showed me lmfao.

I thought the same thing at first & was going to post a thread on it.

But I realized that refreshing the email changes the Battle Tag & the stats.
After constantly refreshing it, I noticed that it was only cycling through a set of the same specific usernames.

So, I think that these usernames are used internally & this email was just a test of the feature.
Not sure if I am correct on that, but that’s what it seems to me because my name never showed up.

My username was correct, though it was saying I haven’t played enough this week. I’m assuming it means Comp, which I haven’t played in 5 seasons. I’m curious if this is somehow meant to be used as a basis for placing in OW2?

I also got one. Correct username but claims I didn’t play enough. Seems like a cool new feature but maybe it’s not quite ready yet.

Give them a break. Blizzard is only a small indie company after all.

I just read over mine after seeing this thread, I was ignoring it.

Pardon me, but further experimentation is required!

While compiling your weekly performance update, I ran your tactical data through Athena's analysis software. Unfortunately, I came away empty-handed. It seems that there wasn't enough data to analyze last week!

By my calculations, you only need to play a few games per week to provide me with sufficient information for me to ofer an evaluation of your performance...

So mine was accurate. I’m not playing Overwatch 1 unless it’s to grab an Overwatch League skin I like, or get something limited-time from an event.

Judging by other responses, it seems that these emails are meant to function as stated, but are very rarely right. It was correct in my case, but even those who received the same email as I did about not having hours apparently put in quite a few, and still received the same “you haven’t played enough”.

I got this email too. Very strange but mine has my correct account name.
