Weekly Performance update not being received

Hi everyone,

I have heard that Overwatch weekly performance updates are being sent out to the community and a couple of my friends. I was interested in this and want to also received personal performance updates on my overwatch stats.

After doing a bit of research I found the following:

  1. You need to enable Targeted ads under Privacy and communication in your account settings. This has always been enabled for me
  2. Have overwatch ticked for Latest News, special offers, Betas and more. This has also always been on for me.

I have checked the email, my battle net account is linked too and can see no weekly performance. I have been told this could be in my spam or junk folder which I have checked and confirm it is not.

Another check I was recommended was, if my email, auto sends emails to other accounts. This is not set up.

I have confirmed that other blizzard new, updates, promo emails still flow into my inbox just fine. This includes OW emails like the recent Transformers promo email.

I have contacted Blizzard support regarding this only to be told to ask the forums for assistance as this is not something they can assist with.

Does anyone have advice regarding how to receive these emails that I have not check yet?

This is incorrect. I have this setting disabled (and always have), but I receive the weekly performance update.

The account you’re posting from does not appear to be linked to a Bnet account (there would be an extra button when clicking your profile picture). That could be related.

I went into incognito mode to see what you see, as it looks like I can access my battle net account profile while logged into this account.

Clicking on my profile pic and clicking view activity sends me to my forum profile which has a view profile button. When I am not in incognito mode, this button shows me my overwatch stats on the overwatch website with “private profile” listed. When I am in incognito mode, this page says “Profile not found”.

Potentially (don’t know for sure), these weekly performance updates only generate for public overwatch profiles (and opt into latest news…)?

I tried to check your overwatch profile however, your forum profile is private so overwatch profile button doesn’t show. Just confirming, is your overwatch profile set to public?

Update: I have updated my overwatch profile to public. Potentially it might be visible to you?

Nope, my forum and Overwatch profiles are private.

However, I think there was a forum update because my profile isn’t showing 2 buttons either now.

I don’t have an answer for why you’re not receiving the weekly update, but I’ll try inquiring about it. It may take some time to get an answer.

Responded too soon. We have some info now.

Right now there is an issue with the system that sends these weekly updates. However, here are the settings needed (brand new support article) to receive the weekly updates once they are live again:

Hi, just wanted to post an update. I have not received the weekly email. Couldn’t be sure what day the weekly summary comes out so I waited 12 days before posting.
