They literally listened to the feedback on this within a day, great.
If you weren’t interested in jade weapons, you may still want to participate in the upcoming competitive drive now since it gives double the usual comp points and you’ll eventually be able to use them on something else
If you mean you have to wait for comp points to roll over to legacy points to buy jade weapons then no
will be purchasable with Legacy and Competitive points in Season 15!
So you will be able to use both currencies to buy gold weapons and in s15 you will also be able to use both currencies for jades at any time so long as you have enough of either currencies
Honestly if they implement a way to use both currencies for a single purchase rather than having to see legacy currency rot away because it’s just barely not enough for a weapon skin it’d be like the perfect system. I’ve had 799 legacy points just sitting there taunting me since season 9!
Also, for the people who didn’t check the link and replies, someone asked;
Does this mean that jade weapons will be available for future heroes as well?
To which Aaron replied
Ummmm….
So….
We’ll have to get back to you on that one! I think I just made extra work for my team.
Hooray, now they’re actually as dumb/common as gold. Before they just looked off, now it’s just the worse option.
I liked it when it was a badge. “I was out there in the trenches, during the Rival™ times”
Props to them for making the change, but I can’t help but wonder why the change of heart now. People have brought up this same complaint for the entire past year, and the dev update pretty much said “We heard your feedback and decided to ignore it,” only to immediately 180 on that.
I’m not sure but pretty much every cc I saw read the blog post said it was dumb.
It seems they’re really bending over backwards ahead of the spotlight. They even added another skin as reward after the Lucio skin debacle. Maybe they just don’t want any bad news to rain on their parade that day
It’s a good decision, but I’m not going to celebrate them avoiding the worst/dumbest option because the community yelled at them to do so like it’s not common sense.
Certain things do deserve to be applauded. This is not one of them.
