I wonder when blizzard are gonna give us weapon inspects
or is that gonna be another broken promise

what is a weapon inspect in this context
There was a preview a long while ago on Overwatch 2’s introduction video where you could push a button and have who you’re playing as inspect their weapon(s). It’d have the hero look at their weapons more closely in an animation from the first person perspective.
Probably shelved alongside PvE, though. Wouldn’t be surprised. >_>

Hand gestures were also shown in some clips which really sucks because giving a thumbs up to someone falling to their death would have been hilarious
That would be nice if there was a button or emote option for this. I know usually in FPS games, if you idle, your character will do a weapon inspection animation.
The weapon charms were such a flop that they probably didn’t see a reason to finish it.
Now that they are trying to push for weapon skins, it may still happen but having just a part of a skin on half the price doesn’t seems like many are particularly interested in those.
So just like the weapon skins that they already stopped releasing…
Weapon inspects are probably never coming because it requires a lot of animation work and they fired most of the animators. There will be no weapon inspects, there will be no hero cinematics and there probably won’t be weapon skins anymore. Only skins, skins and more skins (including lazy recolors).
Do you know what the most hilarious part is?
Paladins did it like ages ago.

I favor them making more skins for my mains rather than something like that as useless as souvenirs.
