It’s crazy that Moira the only support since launch that’s still heavily associated with the “bad guys” of Overwatch
The only supports that could have been close to that are Bap and Weaver but they both defected from their respective organizations and are hardly morally gray. Bap’s in Overwatch now and Weaver’s talking to sym again as she keeps questioning vishkar.
Illari canonically requests info and stuff from Sombra but odds are that’s just Illari paying a freelancer for dirt on her current employers while she seeks her own form of redemption or something.
“Support” and “villain” could also have such interesting personalities.
Mafia boss who doesn’t like getting his hands dirty.
A parasite interested in your survival so he can leech off on you.
Maybe somebody who just doesn’t want to cause unnecessary deaths.
A support treating you like a literal pet (in a bad way).
Yeah, Illari hates Widow and Moira for starters. She’s more of a Hanzo type of deal. At best she’s an anti-hero but I wouldn’t even go that far tbh.
I’d like Nguyen from Mauga’s Bap’s short story What You Left Behind as a Talon support. The guy is a cold-blooded villain through and through. He’s a gunslinger so he’d be in contrast to Cassidy, too. We could do with another character wielding a Desert Eagle/revolver/whatever for gameplay variety.
We’re never going to get him because he wouldn’t sell skins, but hey ho.
Ah. I’d love if Illari had ‘employed by some security organization or another to put her skills to work’ added to her backstory, though. It’d make her that much more engaging as a character, imo.
If PvE came out they would have. One of Briggs abilities was called “MIT21 - A curious friend in a jetpack arrives to battle to help you and your team”
