We need a solution for Early Backouts

Occasional back outs because you got to go or something I understand, but no these backouts are very specific, and there needs to be a solution to stop them…

Especially in Capture the Flag, I was in a match one with 0v0, and we got the flag, didn’t even get a point yet, and several opposing team players left…

Every single match is like this. Your playing on a team, and trying your best, and your team could win, but the opposing team gets 1 point, and then all or most of your team backs out. THIS IS 1 OF 3 FLAGS needed to win!

I think Devs Should implement a system that when a Match is started, and your in said match for 1 minute, if the player presses to blackout, there should be a warning reminding that they are leaving a match in progress. When this is done more than 3 times, there should be some sort of penalty. Such as; no leveling up for a few matches, no loot boxes for a few matches. If the backing out continues, then being locked out from playing for a short period, like 2 matches so about 20 minutes.

I have also continually seen teammates abuse the inactivity reminder. The ones that do not backout, but also do not help the team at all… Instead they stand somewhere out of site, and just occasionally move back and forth while the rest of the team is trying to win…

I think the perimeter of when they need to move again to be active needs to be wider so they are forced to move out of a small section or at least if there is no confrontation with other players it should detect this…

Even further I think it would be nice to be able to team vote out players that are not helping, as in only, not moving far players… There should be a way for the game to detect this.

Thats all I have to say

I understand this might not be a competitive mode, but its not fun to be in a match where you have no teammates, or to join a match late because people have backed out and there is nothing you can do to win the match…

Penalties are not the answer. This is a casual video game. If you don’t like the poor sports that quit at the first sign of trouble, then stick to comp, or turn text chat off so you don’t realize when other players leave.

Perhaps they could facilitate the backfill more, or add team buffs or a bot (until backfilled) when someone leaves in order to lessen their negative impact.

Maybe they could have a setting that players can opt into that eliminates the “defeat” screen in a loss, since that is what the poor sports are really afraid of. Just get rid of it altogether.

It doesn’t matter if its comp or not, it’s a cooperative game you need 6 people to play with, unless you are playing with a group therefore we have won missing 1-2 people before. It should be taken seriously whether it’s comp or not, people need to learn sometimes you lose, and you need to face defeat to get better.

Backfill is not the issue either. the problem resides in people backing out and then new players being stuck trying to figure what the heck is going on, being through into usually a tough situation. Every once in a while a person that backsout is the weakest link it its good… But sometimes it would be better if they stayed so you can work with their pick, cause they could be close to where the team needs them, and then backout… Now 1-3 people are coming from spawn which delays where the help is needed from.

Defeat is necessary. We are not trying to baby this game with the “every one wins”, sometimes you lose, and that is realistic… I suppose no harm in having an option for some people if they want it… but… i don’t know that’s kind of odd…

Lastly, I dont have on any kind of chat. you automatically see when people leave… Also I aggressively check my stats and the roster screen to see who has ultimate’s, and who we have and who we are against, and I do check to see if anyone backed out as a habbit now on the same screen

It is actually been my observation that they’ve recently increased penalties for those who leave a game before it starts but I have not been able to figure out specific details of what is happening

Loot box and exp penalties wont stop people from leaving. It has to be HARSH to keep them there, then they will just afk and throw

Its really better to let them leave and get replaced most of the time. It does hurt to be in a region that doesnt refill quickly though

I appreciate that ideal, but the reality is, it’s a video game. Accept that, and you will enjoy yourself more, imo. There are ways to take it more seriously, but expecting everybody to play at your standards is pretty selfish, don’t you think? You could always form a team if it’s really that big of an issue. Form two teams so you guys can scrimmage without leavers or casual mind-sets.

I feel you, but the defeat screen is salt in the wound. The match is already lost, the screen might as well flash “LOSER” at the end. There could be an option to just say “match complete” for the sensitive types. Maybe they wouldn’t be as apt to leave seconds before the LOSER screen appears.

I think there should be penalties for leaving, especially in comp they should be high. But in casual modes why not just backfill?

And even in Comp if it’s within 1 minute of starting just backfill instead of cancelling the match. I wouldn’t do that late in the match but in the first minute why not?

If they removed paris and horizon, that would also remove 99% of the people leaving as soon as the match starts.

This game is also getting on in years, people know which maps they hate, ones they do not find fun, so why stay if they are not having fun?

This is a massive problem in Competitive play, especially Competitive Capture the Flag (which should be available year round in my opinion). CTF is far and away my favorite mode in this game, but it’s only good if people know how to play it. And having matches canceled is just so aggravating.

But what really pisses me off is the dodgers. People who leave at the start and the 10 second counter begins, then they rejoin but the game is still canceled and they get no penalty. Fix your game, Blizzard, it’s not like you’ve had over five years to address this abuse or anything.
