The Problem with Dive is Tracer, Genji and Dva…
We need a real counters for Genji and Tracer…
Not Brigitte…she is not even close to change the Meta…
Can we try this Settings on the PTR?
McCree: (To counter Tracer)
Flashbang:
Area of effect - 3 meters radius
Stun Duration - 1 second
Stop momentum
Roadhog: (To counter Genji)
Chain Hook:
Can’t be deflected.
Tracer: (She is most balanced, just 1 more Second to her Blink)
Blink:
Cooldown
4 seconds per charge
12 seconds for all three charges
Genji: (All my Friends quit Overwatch because of this Retarded Ninja…)
Dragonblade:
Charge required - 1750 points
Swift Strike:
Reduce the Hitbox to match the Animation.
Can’t cancel Abilities or Animations.
Deflect:
Reduce the Hitbox to match the Animation.
Cooldown - 10 seconds
Dva is the Dive Queen…i have no idea to Fix her…

Those are some bad suggestions, and by bad, I don’t mean the '80s kind of bad.

Genji already has counters, Tracer and D.va are the real issue

no matter what you do or how you buff or nerf characters, there are 2 things you should understand.
First of all, the power of dive doesn’t come from the offensive heroes. It comes from the tanks. Winston and d.va. Any dps that can follow them for the initiation works. doesn’t have to be tracer or genji for that matter.
Second, regardless of what they do and change, dive will never ever go away. Most maps are designed to be highground oriented. Priority is positioning and what a better way to have a tank that can just jump to highground instantly? I mean face it. Do you think rein on defense has a chance on dorado point 2? Nope. He’ll be erased from highground without the capability of fighting back.
So you want dive to go? It’ll never go, unless they change the tanks as well as the maps.
So get used to it.

didn’t dive start when winston’s shield got buffed tho

Winston and Moira both have high pick-rates and hard-counters to Genji in most ranks. Also new Sombra is pretty good against him too.

No, because it was being played before the bubble CD buff, too. Dive was played very early on, before hero limits were implemented, and then kind of went away when triple tank showed up.
People figured out that dive counters triple tank and started playing it again, with some modifications, and it’s evolved into what we have today.
Actually, the main proponent of Dive is Winston due to his mobile nature and his Barrier Projector effectively preventing healing from the target and blocking damage to Winston & his teammates.
D.Va is picked mainly because of her mobility and her ability to prevent Winston from taking any damage once he commits to a target.
Genji & Tracer are merely the buzzards or crows that pick at the prey as they’re being mauled by the larger predators.

No genji can’t lose any of his animation cancels
It’s like, the main reason why he is fun
If you want a gengu counter use:
Winston: a good one, he is sole purpose isn’t to just kill the genji as he’s currently meta
McCree: bait genji into using deflect by using a few shots then flash him after
Symmetra: I’m not sure about pc but on console she literally counters everyone
Moira: is currently meta, can easily spam orbs and use her primary fire
Satan: w+m1
As for tracer counters:
Orisa: halt can ruin a tracers get away plan
Pharah: if the tracer doesn’t see Pharah straight away there isn’t a lot she can do (also a decent genji counter)
Genji: w+e
Symmetra: read some where above
Moira: also read above
Honestly I think genji is fine however tracer definitely is op I hardly play her but literally every time I do I always get potg
I think tracer should get:
A longer ult charge, not sure how much but just, longer.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
A damage nerf on her pistols, one clipping is scary
Increase the bloom

Every single new hero released had something in their kit that was supposed to counter Tracer/Genji:
Ana’s Anti-Nade
Sombra’s Hack/EMP
Orisa’s Fortify and Halt
Doomfists Rocket Punch
Moira’s Lock on Grasp beam and Biotic Orb
and now Brigitte’s Shield Bash.
Yet through time people have still complained and felt that Tracer and Genji still has no counters and those abilities weren’t enough.
I’d say with Sombra’s recent Overbuff that Tracer and Genji are gonna be pretty doomed nowadays.

You’re wrong. dive was never a thing. The meta before triple tank was zarya rein combo. Rein specifically was considered the must pick. We had combos before that but the one and only dominating main tank was rein. Winston wasn’t even used before season 4.
Planet of the apes was absolutely meta before hero limits were implemented. Winston fell to F-tier when hero limits were implemented, but variants of dive started to make an appearance around the time triple tank started to taper off.
Winston didn’t get his shield buff until after dive started becoming a threat.
It would be great if defense heroes with no mobility could counter heroes with good mobility.
Let’s take Mei as an example. Jeff said that her buffs would make her stronger against more elusive enemies like Tracer and Genji, but it doesn’t. They can simply use their mobility to keep distance, evade her reach and attack from a distance.
Geoff said Mei doesn’t has mobility because she is more like a counter to mobility, but she isn’t. She can only slow down horizontal base movements and mobility abilities and vertical movements aren’t affected.
Sombra was buffed to be a counter to mobility, but the problem is that Sombra is a disruptor and flanker herself. She doesn’t protect teammates and a point like a defense hero would because she is running out there making the lives of enemies hard from behind them.
Defense heroes needs to be buffed properly so they can do their job properly. I have yet to see that happen.

i meant when it became the primary meta. prior to triple tank iirc, it was deathball meta. sure dive was a strat since always but it wasn’t the thing. like the meta. it only started to become meta when winston got his shield buff. i mean we’re still sorta in dive meta right now, but triple tank, deathball are still happening but that doesn’t mean that triple tank and deathball are the meta. so like that, just cause people used dive before doesn’t mean it was meta.
and maybe what you say is true. my reply was more inline with ‘countering’ OP’s idea of countering these 3 heroes because they are missing the main proprietor of dive: winston.
are you seriously bringing up no limit metas? People even didn’t know what half the heroes do back then. Why should any person even care one bit about what the meta was in a no limit environment? 6 symmetra is one meta there too. Who cares?
I mean, you’re right that Winston is the main tank for dive comps, but that’s like saying you should nerf Rein because he’s the main tank for deathball and triple tank comps. Sometimes it’s better to just let sleeping dogs lie.

i never said anything about nerfing winston tho. i simply stated that op was looking at a small part of the picture. like sure genji and tracer needs counters (tho with brigette coming up im sorta okay now with the amount of counters they have in the roster), idk about dva i think she’s fine. my point being genji, tracer, and dva are just a small part of dive. winston is the biggest part of dive and op seems to have forgotten about our favorite gorilla. like i said. my reply isn’t a nerf/counter/balancing/whatever thing. i was just trying to bring up the main guy of dive.
I hate to say it, and I know it’s gonna be disagreed upon. But would killing a playstyle for the sake of making heroes you don’t like facing any more fun? If dive does become irrelevant what do you expect the offense to do. Play a long war of attrition by ticking barriers off back and forth until one set of the several shields and barriers finally fall? I hate to say it, but dive is what gives the game all of it’s pace and stops it from being a turtlefest, and with new counters you are able to still turtle decently well, and dive is okay where it is now.
