I read the book several times. All I can remember is him thinking about he should make a giant fake peen to shock people.

Not really, he held humanity in his “golden way” just to create enough preassure for future explosion, tbh even if 4 book is my favorite from the series I think part with Hwi was best part. Philosophy is good, but love is better
When I first read this, I was like “Eh, not as good as the first book.” But that was twenty years ago, so maybe I should give it another shot. It’s not like I’m doing anything important for the few or so hours per day I’m sitting around at work doing nothing.
You definitely should! I reread it after 20 years and was like – woah! First 3 books is just a action movie, but 4th is full zen

Speaking of worms, I have yet to kill an orowyrm but I did steer it into a castle and usurped the throne…for 5 minutes.
Is it true dune has like 30 books? Should I read them or watch the movie(s)?

It has 6 books and 2 abominations.
First 3 are good as movie material. 4 is unique and probably will never be on a big screen. Last two are weird, but ok. 2 that was written after Herbert’s death are bizarre and used completely different writing style.
