No rank should be talking about balance outside of their own rank, region and time zone.

We could use forums categories for each rank to divide up the madhouse so that we don’t get so many people contradicting themselves fighting over things. Often they are both right but only inside their own rank.

But that will never happen. Everyone knows what’s best for everyone apparently.

For example.
A lot of people here think that because time has passed and their rank improved that they got better. When the truth is that the good players left. That’s why many of your ranks shifted. Of course everyone has been approving over time. But did you outpace the rest or fill a vacuum?

Conversely some people in bronze play at a level that GM players were playing at in 2017.
The overall skilllevel has improved dramataically across all ranks over time. Just watch early streams.

The bar for what is ‘good’ has shifted. A lot of the community shifted to other games.

Did you get better or worse? Did you move up because you improved or to fill a vacuum?

It’s impossible to know.

So who should we listen to?

Main mistake. You are not going better by just randomly pressing buttons, without trainign and using brain activity (like most players lol)

Everyone has a right to play the game and enjoy it. Not just the people who are currently at the highest rank. Balance needs to be taken into account across all ranks, and finely tuned for high play.

Every rank gets to have an opinion on their experience.

Not just you because you decided you earned it.

Statistics. And certainly not those nonsense on the forum that people write about it because they don’t understand what it is and how to work with it

I find that just because people can learn how to click heads really well, that a lot GM/Pro players are pretty clueless about systems design and how to balance an ecosystem of gameplay niches across multiple ELOs simultaneously.

Like they are really damn good at telling you what the current situation is, and what the symptoms of a problem are.

But when it comes to solutions…Not so much.

Statistics can be interpreted in many ways. Even the OW team themselves have issues using them.

Not to mention you don’t even have the correct statistic if you only rely on overbuff.

Wrong. Hero like winston or rein still exists. But average gold bad on every hero. And extremly bad on hero where he is need good aim


Don’t worry about the developers, they have complete statistics and they know how to work with it, I personally made sure of this after reading their latest article

I mean you’re talking to a guy who guessed the specific details of almost every systems design feature over the last 2 years.

From my standards, they kinda suck at it.

But its still wrong. You can escape gold by just using flash and fan the hammer full game. My peak was around master with this. Not talking about winston or rein gaming.

I guess everyone is just bad and the game is perfectly balanced then considering the OWL pros use the same 5 heroes through all the matches.
