We Are 1 Patch Away

I know this has been said countless times, but for the 50th time I think we’re just 1 patch away from the golden age of balance. This PTR patch ties up a lot of loose ends & I think it’ll just take 1 more to line everyone up nicely. The only outliers I see needing some love after this patch are

Bastion
Pharah
Sombra
Sym
Torb

And then after that patch the new hero will be released & mess everything up lol

I dont know. Burst damage and AoE heals are still out of control. But besides that, yes.

And that follow up patch to address the outliers is only 6 to 8 months away. :smile:

I’m dreading it, I hope it’s not another Goats case where we’re stuck in that meta for 1000 years before something is done.

While i want Echo to be the next, im worrying about that she will be a better Pharah like other new heroes did replaced older ones before.

Inb4 it’s a support who can fly better than Mercy

and they’re all on the forums screaming about how this new hero makes Mercy look trash.

I’ll just be like
“Hey guys Baptiste AOE healer who can do 10x more things than Moira, where were your tears then?”

I think that’s unfair. Bappy boi was meta shorter than Moira . Both were low tier and unwanted until they were meta. Bappy boi imo isn’t the support that’s moira’s issue

Oh I wasn’t saying that sorry.

I was just using it as an example of 2 things being similar e.g both AOE healing and if Echo can fly then both Flying.

I should have explained myself better.

Even if we really are on the verge of reaching golden age of balance, it’s also the dark ages of the game being fun and appealing to anyone other than DPS players and long-time fps veterans.

Tanks and healers can be “viable” and “influencal” all they want, but no one is queueing up to play them anymore.

it just seems that way because there are more DPS players than any other role.

Moira, mercy and bap now all need reverts and Mei and reaper need more nerfs and hanzo’s ult charge needs to be increased and D.Va needs her health rebalanced to 300 armor 300 health and speed penalty reduced to 40%

The ratio of DPS to tank and support players has gotten much worse after most of the tank and support players quit.

The devs keep balancing tank/support based on how they feel to play against, but ignore all feedback on how they feel to play as. It’s alienated and driven away most of the OG tank and support mains.

I think it’s going to take several patches if we’re being honest, tank balance is still a problem between Sigma and D.va on both ends of the viability spectrum and a third of the supports are practically worthless between Moira and Brigitte. DPS is probably the least problematic category, because half if the damage cast can stand to be terrible at any one time and the game will still be very diverse. The worst performers are the usual suspects of Sombra, Junkrat, Bastion, Torbjorn and Symmetra, and honestly half of those are just toxic assets for the game anyway.

Well, I guess Moira is impending a huge damage nerf then :sob:

She is already dumpster tier at high ranks, I guess soon she’ll get one last knife in her back if this is what is really happening to support and tank.

I honestly doubt it, there is and will forever be an imbalance. Some characters still need a bit of help while others still need some tuning down.
I do hope that we someday reach a point where every character is viable, but I doubt that will ever come
