Wasn't there a Bard Lucio skin coming?

Am I stupid or something? Or did I miss it? Why would the Bard Lucio skin not be in the shop right now? It’s still the Fantasy/D&D season, right? We’re in the middle of Mischief and Magic, right? That’s like the ONE and ONLY skin I wanted to buy.

What happened?

It was released already

pretty sure that was in the store last week with lifeweaver’s cleric skin

LOL. Why?! They’re losing money by rotating these skins out so fast.

I mean that’s how the shop has worked since launch, why are you suddenly so shocked?

because they know fomo will get people to buy skins. it’s the nature of live service games

You didn’t check the shop once a week during the season. :woman_shrugging:

In this case it actually worked against them. Doesn’t seem to make any sense to limit what people can buy.

it’s to incentivise people to make impulsive purchases, the whole “get it before it’s gone” thing that fortnite and other games do. it sucks.

my advice to the people willing to actually spend money on these things (well besides recommending they dont):

subscribe to their social media outlets…cause if theres ONE thing blizz does on social media, its advertise shop additions…

they do not miss ANY opportunities to let everyone know theyre putting something on there…

the game can be up in flames and actually dying…but you bet your a*% they will have a tweet out saying they got a bundle up in the shop…

i wanted bard lucio for 7 years the second it was shown i was checking that shop every Tuesday and when i dropped i spent the last of my coins on it and the weaver skins

Actually, they aren’t. They can artificially manufacture FOMO (fear of missing out) this way, making people who otherwise might have held off on purchasing the item purchase it instead. This is also another way to get users to log in to check the shop each week. I promise you every decision Blizzard makes with its microtransactions and shop is calculated af. They have a team of industrial/organizational psychologists that provide them with human buying behavior and data analysis. They make decisions with careful consideration given to what these psychologists tell them. This is what every major company does, especially the very successful ones.

Edit: to be clear, I am not defending them (or any company for that matter) here. Just laying out how it is.

I recommend following @OWCavalry on twitter too. they’re always giving up to date news on the game

it works because people are so oblivious to how much theyre being manipulated

from the time frames, to the prices, to the bundles, to the very idea of the game itself being “free”

everything about the monetization (and the games design really) is based on some level of manipulation that most people are unaware of

If I remember correctly OW2 should go out of early access and the “for you shop” will now show OW2 skins instead of OW1 bundles. So if you play Lucio, there is a good chance that they will appear in the section and will change every day depending on RNG and played heroes.

But like others said: its now close to 2 weeks since the skin was released. You missed it.

The battle.net app allows you to see the shop and even buy items/coins as well from your phone. You can see what’s available without even logging into the game now.
