well i mean where else would all that lack of lore go.
Its gotta go somewhwere.

To me it sounds like itâs just⌠not happening.
What Fortnite clone? Care to post up any links to that?
As far as I know Blizzard has said, very recently, they have multiple Diablo games in the works. Nothing was said about any of them being a Fortnite cloneâŚ
well they have to do their job or they get fired.
just imaging it like water appearing out of nowhere. Just a lot of water spawning from the air.
And then you put it in a box that has a whole bunch of slots that can open up and channel whatever it is you need to channel.
It HAS to be going somewhere imo.
Either to some other game teams, being stored for a mega lore dump, or a series of some kind.
if literally not any of this then iâll 100% be disappointed and probably not buy another blizzard product again.
Seeing as how the events are now running on maintenance mode, Iâd say at least that part of the dev team responsible for making new event modes is cut or redirected to other teams.
I donât think the team was reduced, the reason for this event being so light on content is very possibly one (or all) of the following:
WoW: Battle for Azeroth is going to be released in a few days, in the months following the release itâs quite common for companies to bring devs from different projects to help with the upcoming game. I remember Valve did the same thing a few years ago with L4D2âs release, and everyone once again wondered if the TF2 team was reduced at the time, but they later clarified why they were âabsentâ.
Jeff & the team clarified many, many times that working on things like the report system, the endorsement system or any of these non-event related contents keeps them from focusing their efforts on the fun stuff like making skins, cinematics, etc. Since there was a huge community uproar about the state of Competitive and toxicity and all that stuff, theyâve likely focused their efforts on these solutions instead of, say, making a new type of summer games mode.
A few months ago we received and AWESOME Retribution event - I think the majority of you will agree that it was the best event mode by far - and they mentioned how long it takes to make something like that. I think that shows theyâve not given up on producing that kind of content. Just because we didnât get a new mode for Summer Games doesnât mean we wonât get one for future events.
We have to remember that this is the third time weâre having Summer Games; a lot of people werenât around for the first two, so for them there is an overwhelming amount of cosmetic content to get. Even with that said we got quite a lot of Legendary skins this year, two top quality highlight intros - the only things we didnât get more of is new voicelines for every single character and new sprays - which are quite frankly not a reason to think that the OW team has been reduced.
All in all, to me the event this year seems quite normal and similar to last year, minus the voice lines. In my opinion the Legendaries are top quality and even if you donât like them personally, you canât deny that theyâre super well crafted. We didnât get a new mode, but a new map for Lucioball, which is meh. But I hope weâre getting something new for the Halloween event, because Iâd rather have a new awesome PvE brawl than another sports-themed event mode which Iâll play like 1-2 times.
we can only talk and guess⌠because there is absolutley no communication from them⌠IF people were moved to WOW (just like they did with cinematics) etc.
THEN it means that they dont respect their fans, and force us to wait for eternity for anything⌠they are not commmunicating with us⌠and this is very disapointing
I am sure that different people are responsible for different aspects of the game. Some are working on new hero, other are doing social stuff.
Remember a long time ago when blizzard said they were hiring a main developer? Itâs possible that they are pumping their resources into a new game.
Maybe they pulled devs to work on Diablo 4? Also heard that lots of WoW devs will switch to a different project after BFA is launched. (D4 too?)
are they? can you link it to me?
Hahaha no.
I dont know what they are doing⌠but they arent working on ow at full time.
Normally Iâd brush this off as a conspiracy theory but theyâre actively posting links to the job page in the launcher and hiring the same types of engineers as they were last year when I checked. Then again people good enough to make FPS game engines are rare and usually prefer academia or fintech.
Or they could be working on other games more, like wow and Diablo. Overwatch was the center of attention for 2 years, and now they want to work on other games. Just a theory
More than likely. It was announced this week they are working on multiple Diablo projects. More announcements regarding them are to happen before the end of the year(likely Blizzcon).
My theory is that theyâre allocating a portion of the team on a different project for the game. Possibly some kind of single player mode, or possibly a full animated movie/event to help move the lore and possibly effect characters.
In any case, after the success of this game they have a lot of resources available to them. Theyâre a billion dollar company backed by a billion dollar company so I doubt they wouldnât be able to hire more people or whatever to help speed up development.
I hope everything is alright, I understand developing and maintaining a game like this is tough work and I for one have no clue what stress they could be facing behind the scenes. All I can do is hope for more content sooner than later.
Was talking about this with friends after the âeventâ came out, i bet they are only 3 working on the game rn
If this was an EA game it would be long abandoned. But this is Blizzard. They support their games for long term. The population is definitely decreased by quite a bit. They need to do something to get people interested again.
i agree, they should TRY to fix the game
Or they lost some people and are trying to get back to a previous staffing level.
