But then I read this forum and nope nope nope. I did not even realize how many control creeps are out there. That seriously is alarming. So now when I had seen that dark part of overwatch community I think that private option is the best thing ever.
After reading some comments about private, I might consider leaving mine private so the enemy team doesn’t know who I comfortably play. I’m a bit tempted though to change it to public.
i mean…the enemy teamm will be very confused when they see a mccree “main” playing zen or zarya…or brigitte…because those are the people i fill as
So everyone who wants to see their teammates profile’s and flex around their hero pools is a “control freak”?
I made mine public so if someone needs to vent their anger at my stats, mains or whatever… They can do so.
You could always just ask
… And then there’s gonna be a ton of people being toxic because your profile is private. Keeping it private isn’t necessarily the best option. We’re actually not gonna win this one. Damned if you do damned if you don’t.
“You’re so bad that you have to hide your profile”
That’s what the toxic people will change over to.
And you reply: “At least I’m not providing information to the enemy team like you are.”
2018, where we need to make all video game profiles private because everyone is butter soft.
From what I read today? Yes. There are dozens of posts written by those people with dozens of likes from their comrades. Scary stuff. Public profiles have their use. Few days ago I meet a Pharah main who carried my Mercy to a 7 games victory streak. But things I saw today teach me that I would have know that she is a good Pharah just by playing with her for a minute or two.
Also while I am a Mercy main my Reinhardt is just as strong. Same for Winston. So what if I have 70 hours on them and 250 on Mercy?
This is exactly why default has to be set to private.
I didn’t have to hide anything. I made the choice to not reveal my profile.
Or just look at what people play rather than ask every teammate individually?
Well, for me I want people to see my high winrate on Bastion so they can stop complaining about me playing Bastion. It’s still showing at the moment I have 70% winrate out of 45 games this season in comp (the one that’s ending.) on him.
Then we just report them and get them banned. Trust me as someone who has been the victim of false reports plenty of times, real reports work even faster.
Or you could just adapt after seeing them play for the first minute
I just made mine public to see how it goes. A social experiment, if you will!
I will probably make it private again once the next season starts.
Something that bugs me is since I play a lot of Mercy, her wings on my profile hide my rank (I am a gold level player) if you look at it from the forums.
The reason they made profiles private is because of how weird people are about other peoples profiles and more importantly, the heroes they play. I think it’s a good thing and it’s very telling that people are so opposed to it.
That won’t stop toxic people. They will just say to set it public.
Keeping mine private because I’m lazy and inherently a private person. It doesn’t bother me having people see my stats or w/e, but if I can opt out I’d just rather do that I guess. The more enigmatic I am the better :^)
huh? why not fix an obvious issue from that start rather than waste time and get rolled at the start of the game?
