If you want your playerbase to ever have a fraction of faith in you again, build OW2 back into what OW1 was: an actual game.
Bring back lootboxes that are earnable and not buyable, including ones made for events.
Remove newer heroes being locked behind the battle pass.
Bring back 6v6.
Bring back general chat, LFG, endgame cards, and half the maps you removed.
Maybe then you’ll get a smidge of your playerbases trust back.
I enjoyed many, many hours of OW1. OW2 just isn’t fun for me, I barely played it more than a day when the beta released, and never came back. The battle pass and micro-transaction nonsense also turned me away from the game. It is such a disappointment. It would be awesome if they opened up an OW1 classic server. I’d play the heck out of that.

What else is there for them? 5v5 makes the PvP awful, and now the PvE copium is gone.
OW1 is probably never coming back again but after this massive blunder they’re gonna have to start getting some good faith back. Everything that was lost from OW1 should be top priority before focusing on new content.
The shift to 5v5 wasn’t for me and I’ve gone from putting in hours a day to maybe 2 matches a week. The shift in philosophy for pvp didn’t align with what I loved about Overwatch and everything was riding on the PVE.
