I think we can mostly agree that now looking back junkrat has been over nerfed, during the time he was “Meta” he was mostly enabled by Mercy due to MOTH META. now that mercy is in the state that she is it is easy to see that junkrat is now UP. not as UP as his state before getting 2nd mine and tire buffs but he needs some small buffs to help him against goats and re-acquire some of his consistency which has been his main problem. I suggest a few minor buffs
REVERT the projectile size nerf and make his projectiles .3 again (whatever that means)
Decrease the severity of the fall off on his mines make the minimum damage someone can take from a mine about 80 dmg or something around there.
THIS IS JUST OPTIONAL, I say try the other buffs FIRST before going with this but also a revert on his tire nerf which was its movement speed going from 13 to 12 (their words)
Currently junkrats pickrate is highest in bronze, but also that is where his winrate is the LOWEST (overbuff stats) his winrate goes up the higher the rank but also his pickrate goes down, all the way to near nonexistent at masters and GM

Stilllllll hoping they at least address that this has been an issue with the projectiles for a year .

Alternatively to boosting the projectile size, they could instead buff the projectile speed by 14-33%(14% would bring it up to the level of other slow projectiles, 33% would be the speed of the Demoman’s grenades). Whether it’s projectile speed or size, either way his primary needs greater reliability.
As for the mine change, we all know he needs it, he needs that reliability. Flat 80 damage would bring back his lethality in close range via his grenade+mine combo, and would result in more area damage against tightly packed enemies. Better to do 80 to several who are in formation, than do 90 to one of them and 30 to the others.
If this means a nerf to his ultimate charge, so that it takes longer to get it back, then so be it. We said in the first place that the only nerfs he needed was for the mines to do less than 100 damage, and for the ultimate to take more to build up. This whole nonsense with making him unreliable was a mistake that Blizzard won’t admit to, but until they do he won’t be able to contribute much of anything.
It would help if we could get non-Junkrat players on our side, but it’s hard to convince them that Blizzard’s changes lowered his reliability to the point where they encouraged spam and discouraged his higher skill potential. Reliable mines and faster projectile speed would give more incentive to actually aim rather than rely on spam. We don’t want to rely on spam, it sucks and only works against bad players, it doesn’t even work that well against barriers.

they low ranks cant even complain much about him anymore because ironically his winrate goes down the lower the rank he goes, but his pickrate does increse

Well in my opinion the single biggest problem is dps. Buffing bad dps will be a great way to stop GOATS. Especially Sym, Torb and Soldier than can be very effective if they get some dps or cd buffs. And of course Junkrat.

junkrat should be a great counter, large hitbox enemies, grouped up, can get riptires pretty quick to kill the healers, plus him being long range and mobility due to conc mines as well as displacement, he should be the ideal counter to goats but he just is not

You can tell they were trying an anti-tanky thing with Sym’s primary and Torb’s ult but they didn’t quite push hard enough. Fear of making “troll characters” strong I guess.
Agreed. Goats became prevalent since junkrat and phara had their AoE potential nerfed.
That was not a coincidence.

junkrat will be as effective against goats as reaper is.
COMPLETELY USELESS AGAINST IT. While making any other comp miserable. And most likely it’ll end up becoming super OP for lower tiers with a chance of it becoming viable for higher levels.
So no thanks. One terrible buff was enough.
Junkrat is fundamentally weak against zarya and d.va. And guess which hero is played in goats? That’s right. BOTH.

Make 76’s rocket pierce shields to damage shield holder.
he is long range, unlike raper, has mobility, unlike reaper, has a good ult UNLIKE REAPER AND BTW his winrate in sub plat is below 50 down to like 46%

I don’t agree on the comparison w Reaper. Junk can be effective further away.

also they just nerfed Dvas defensive capability with DM so now there is more of an opening for junk plus he can also trap their tanks to be focused
You know what? I want to explain further as to why it’s a very very very bad idea. But this forum literally has no sense of history repeating itself and will never learn from the past mistakes.
so go ahead. Ask for a buff to junkrat to. It’s not like the game is all honey and wonder without another mistake.

How about snipers doing double damage to shields? Or Mcree’s fan the hammer doing double damage on shields.
we don’t need mcright click and I already HATE widow/hanzo so much, they are plenty strong (hanzo acutally does need a nerf in my opinion)

Want to kill goats?
Buff: Junkrat, Sombra, Doomfist, Mei, Torbjorn, Orisa, Bastion, Pharah, Roadhog
Make D.va tank instead of tanky dps
Buff Brigitte CC , nerf aoe sustain from Rally and Inspire

Im down for most of those buffs and such but I feel such a big balance patch could bring issues, I say start with only a few heroes at a time but the 1st definetly be junkrat
Okay I’ll say it again, if not Junkrat then
My mind tunes out to arguments for consistency about a hero who is literally intended to be chaotic and inconsistent.
I would be far more empathetic to any argument outside of “consistency”, however as long as he has a right click that is better than a Tracer ult, it is still difficult for me to generate any concern.
Perhaps a re-work of both would be in order.
If his mines would act like mines, and not do physical damage until they hit the ground, only concussion blast, then a boost of his primary fire would be in order, but as it stands, his mines are far too powerful to be in a kit which includes improved spammy damage that has a ridiculous amount of accidental and unintended kills.
