An Overwatch League team used an exploit with Mei and her Ice Wall back in the qualifier matches for the Kickoff Clash (May/June 2022)…back when OW2 was officially in beta…fast forward to November 2022 and now Mei is being disabled for the EXACT SAME EXPLOIT? And NO ONE on the dev team even bothered to fix that exploit in the 6 months between then and now? Despite the fact it is quite reasonable to foresee that if OWL pros use a strat, OWL viewers would use the same strats (even if it’s against CoC)?

-We disabled Torb from comp for three weeks
-We had to make Bastion unplayable for 3 weeks
-We did not fix an issue we knew about in Beta for MONTHS
Gets funnier every time glitches like this go unfixed for weeks to months.

Will fix any bug 5yrs later and will take 3 months just to address patches thats right we didn’t abandon this game and we’ve learnt absolutely NOTHING from Diablo Immortal… speaking of which if you want some diablo skins like hit us up… we are thinking 200 bucks for them since its a cross over.
The bug that got Mei disabled is more likely one that allows players to clip through terrain. Terrain clipping can lead to being able to contest objectives while invincible.
Ok, thank you to those of you who called me out for misinformation. More hydration before posting (and before gameday) is an important lesson to learn.
Regardless, the fact Mei’s Ice Wall has been the culprit behind 2 exploits in the same year is very maddening, to say the least. Like, I don’t know if a 2 week vacation will be enough to fix what sounds like a very bugged ability. I’d feel better removing the Ice Wall ability from her kit temporarily, even if that means giving her a temporary compensation buff while Ice Wall is put under a microscope in the meantime.
I think OWL using exploits is standart? I remember some really old clips about winston just sliding on the roofs where he should not be in OWL, or places you not supposed to stand on high up there in general.
They are best group to look for those to be fair, since they are both recorded, and try their best to win no matter what so exploits is also on the table as way to suprise other team.
the heroes still announce being on fire despite on fire being removed ever since the first beta. Seems like such an obvious change and i was willing to say “ok it’s a beta, they’ll remove it come release”
but they didn’t.
did… did you somehow fail to understand what op was criticizing?
hint: it’s the fact this bug was feature in OWL months ago and the devs decided to address it only now
You call it those, but im sure at least some of them got patched later on.
Just like teleporting in to mei wall placed in wrong spot to get flank position.
